Soldano SLO's

I recall Mike Soldano stating he has never changed anything about the circuit, nor will he. He knows about the bleedthrough and the loop issues but I think he said it is part of the tone. The SLO is one of the most successful amps out there so I don't blame him from a marketing standpoint to not make any changes to this long standing consistent amp.

go look at the schamitic the first tube is the gain stage the second tube is the clean chanel the noise is tube noise with the the gain cranked up

I know there's always concern about audible pops when switching channels, but I don't hear any with mine.

But if it isn't actually broken...

Mine recently started popping when switching from OD to Normal. It's pretty noticeable at band volume. I took it to my tech and he replaced the LDRs, which seemed to help a little, but now it sounds like it did before I brought it to him. I'd really like to get this fixed, as I do a lot of channel switching in my Rush tribute and otherwise love this amp.

are the Soldano and clones consistent as well?

Are you asking if the clones are identical to the real thing? I guess that would depend on how someone builds it. But yeah, same schematic. Same layout. You can build an identical clone. Only thing you can't really get your hands on are the DeYoung transformers. But from what I've been told by people who have built a few clones and have real SLOs as well, the O'Netics transformers get you like 99% there.

But I shouldn't comment because I'm not a "real" SLO owner. I don't want someone to start making fun of my avatar again...
