I'm not hearing that roundness of the lows with this X88 versus what I sometimes hear with the SLO???????

The pitch shift may sound better bettween the preamp and power amp? It still sounds good up front though.

It sounds really good. I would try the pitch shifter in the effects loop of the X88 set to detune with the +10/-10 cent setting into your delay/reverb.

I tried it. When turned ON, the output got lower.
I always dial out low-end.
I owned countless SLO‘s. I prefer this pre-amp. Way more versatile.
