Some isolated Lynch

Definately like the under lock and key tone more than bfta. But I hear reverb with a quick slap back which gives it that brightness.

cool stuff but I wish it was the dry amp sound pre the effects being added

Sounds like it was recorded in a small bathroom with reflections bouncing off all the walls... also doesn't sound as gainy as one would think for Lynch leads. Yet.....it sounds fantastic! I think we all obsess a little too much over our tone instead of sticking the cab in a washroom and hitting record/play on our DAW.

To me, that is the perfect 80s hard rock tone. Excellent!

EDIT - speaking of the ULAK tones, which are my preference...

Love it! It helps putting tabs to the music when it's isolated. Lynch is such an unorthodox sort of player that (at least for me) is sometimes difficult to figure out what exactly he's playing.

I've always wondered about this in particular: In the isolated solo track for The Hunter, I guess Lynch blazed through the solo too quick, and a little studio editing stretched the end of it to fit the beat by doing a little quick repeat and paste of a split second, and the end result sounds like a quick whammy bar double hit. Can't really tell in the mix of the song, but isolated it sticks out like a sore thumb.

0:38 seconds

Sounds like I expected it to isolated...very nice. :)

Playing Dream Warriors is an indulgence of mine I have to admit... \:D/

it's funny because if you isolate anything after 2000 , that signature 80's tone or hairband tone is no longer there. everything sounds modernized.. I guess with good reason (obviously) though I prefer the old tone and mixes.

Agreed. U really notice it in Heaven Sent solo part. Not much gain at all....but I think the bouncing perceive s as some top end bite.

Yeah there is a lot of mayo (effects) and stuff on that guitar... especially all of the Mr Scary tracks. And you can hear some of the punch ins on the solos too.

Nothing wrong with punch ins! What is interesting is some of those tones on their own, I would never think would be final release worthy. As a finished product though it sounds fantastic.

Cool tracks. What's funny to me is that most of the time when someone on YouTube or whatever posts a clip of a "nailed" 80's tone I almost always think to myself that it really doesn't sound like a lot of the 80's tones I remember.  It might sound like this songs tone or that songs tone because your playing that song. Most of those 80's tones that are really popular(especially around here) are not very gainy or saturated at all. A lot of times they sound very bright and even thin when they are isolated or even if you just really try to focus on the guitar track only. Of course it sounds great in the mix though. I really like hearing all these isolated tracks of famous songs but I'm pretty glad they weren't available when I was young. It seems it would have taken some of the magic and awe away. Almost like when you find out how a magician does a certain trick. They are cool to me now though.
