It's basically the redefined Schmidt. Class A/B now with excellent reverb, and better features. I love this simple layout. It's not a midrangey amp, more balanced with sharper highes. I love the amp, but out of the box it sounded a little dry and brittle. after some transformer break in and switching out all those lame Chinese tubes, the amp is fuller and smoother for me now (I put in JJ EL34L's and JJ gold 12ax7's). I'm sure after a year of playing it, it will even sound better. Extremely versatile amp from pure usable clean to hard hitting high gain. While it has a more classic rock vibe compared to all the other diezels (pure Metal amps), the Paul still has the Diezel sound that is tighter, more controllable, and has more ballsy low end then your average modded Marshall style amps. I would have called it the "Modern Classic".....although Rick from Wizard already controls that name. I have one of those too! Lastly, it sounds and feels like a 45 watt amp, so you really can't compare it to all it's bigger brothers stark heavy hitting thump. Defintely has better feel then the 100-120 watters. I'm using a couple different Les Pauls; one with PAFs, and one with Hot Bareknuckles. Both guitars love the amp. So far, my Mills 4x12 with V30's sounds the best, and V30's are not my favorite speakers. All Diezels just sound really good with V30's.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it.
