I don't know enough about looking at resistors to know that looks interesting. What looks interesting about it?

The colors are super pretty...

The fact that they are coming out with a new model.

intrigued....but then again...I've owned 4 splawns. 3 QR and 1 competition.

A 10 watt, 10" closed back speaker combo would be sweet.

10 year could be right...I think he started up around 2004 or so...but was modding amps before that. Not entirely sure... :)

Shiny Surface, is that one of the Beagle Boys in your avatar?

I sure hope that is not going to be the name of the thing

I could have sworn a few years ago there was a rumor that Scott was going to have some thing more brutal than the Nitro.

The Decimator right?

Deccennial just doesn't roll off the tongue does it :D

(also sad that the Splawn forum has given way to Facebook) :(

A departure from automobile themed names? Also, I believe the word only has one c.

I wonder if it will sound like a goosed, compressed Marshall…..

This is interesting. Unless I'm mistaking, those are Vishay/Dale CMF60 mil-spec MF resistors. I considered trying a set of these, and even purchased a full kit. I eventually went with Vishay/Dale RN60 series resistors, which were too hi-fi to my ears. Some say you won't hear a difference between resistors of like construction, but I disagree. I'm considering going back to the el-cheapo Xicon's for their seemingly more saturated character. Who knows, CMF60's in a Splawn may be just the ticket!

Yea and others here scoffed at the pic saying you couldn't tell anything by looking at some resistors.

Well, they may be more familiar with the inner workings of a Splawn than I am, so to them it may not seem interesting. Steve is a builder, and the other guy certainly knows his way around the inside of an amp. I've owned two Splawn amps, but neither one of them as I recall used Dale CMF60 resistors. I find it interesting by virtue of that fact that I once considered using the CMF60's myself. Should be interesting to hear what players that of this amplifier.
