Mark, here's the thing - you've already had a sketchy auction or two under your belt, and you're not giving total disclosure on this one either. People not giving all the info on their auctions are a fucking scourge of Ebay and make it harder for honest buyers and sellers to deal instruments and other items.

Think someone would care if they bought a USA high end strat and the body was swapped out from factory? Hell yes. Why wouldn't it matter for Caparisons?

Pete

Nothing in my auction is false or shady at all. I could understand if the neck or body wasn't a Caparison and I wasn't stating that, but the guitar is exactly what I describe it as. A custom Caparison, there's no other ones like the one I'm selling. The first Caparison I bought was a custom from Pete that he had refinished himself. That doesn't make the guitar any less custom. I don't think it matters one bit that the guitar didn't come from the factory like it is, that doesn't affect anything IMO.

oh no....

Not going to comment if I think this is shady. I think it's be covered ad nauseum here and my opinion really doesn't matter.

That said, whenever I post a SPAM on here or HCAF, I usualy put it a price to move....and also know that I am probably hooking someone up in the process. To me, there is a price for NOT having to deal with dildo's on EBAY.

But that's the difference between Mark's deals and the deals I do....Mark looks to make profit. Knowing this, I probably wouldn't make an offer on his gear. Its not personal....I just know I'm probably paying more than I could get it elsewhere.

Sorry Mark, but I agree with the others. This is a one of a kind because it's a project guitar. All of the parts being Caparison doesn't make that any different. This should be stated in the auction. If I bought that guitar and found out later it was pieced together and not sold like that from Caparison, I'd be more than irritated about this "one of a kind" axe I had bought.

Disregard what others are saying and defend your position as you like, but it looks like you're alone in your position.

Him saying that his Custom is as good as Caparison's custom is pretty bold.

Did you not read what I've said? They don't have a custom shop Scott. All of their guitars are made by the same guys. It doesn't matter if it's a standard Horus or a Dellinger or a custom ordered by Mattias Eklundh. The only benefit the endorsed artists get is that they have almost unlimited options in what they can get with the guitars, the quality and construction is exactly the same though.

Well the thing is you can't get this guitar anywhere else. You would have to hunt down a Snow Cloud Horus and one of the limited edition models with the maple fretboard...which only about 5-10 were made and you can only get in Japan. If you could find both of those you'd be paying close to $3500. Then you would have to buy black hardware for it which would be another few hundred dollars. The Snow Cloud Horus was never made with black hardware. Itaru Kanno of Caparison installed the black hardware on this Snow Cloud that I'm selling however.

Oh and I revised the auction so everyone can get their panties all untangled.

Mark, you did the only right thing when you told about the neck swap...

You sound like a whiney little child Mark. You were wrong. Buck and and be a man.

if it didn't come from the factory that way then it's not a custom guitar, it's a customized guitar

Your guitar is not "custom Caparison", its a Caparison that you customized. Thats quite a difference. A "custom guitar" in the guitar lingo means that it was built to someones specs by some luthier or custom shop.

Putting a new neck on a guitar or doing some other mods to it doesn't make it a custom guitar....it makes it a customized or modified guitar...thats a small difference in words, but the meanings of the two expressions differ quite a bit imo.

Just my 0,00 €...

Edit: uh,...cobrahead was faster :D

Ok, there is no difference between your build and Caparison's build. Maybe the Caparison guys do not care, I know that other fans of different guitars would care alot if they did not get a factory guitar.

I am done.

Actually, it's a project guitar. I know that doesn't sound as glamorous, but that's what it is.

Mega... dude. Full disclosure is important. I'm not going to "player hate" your auction, how you conduct your business is your decision, but I doubt anyone who read this thread would buy that guitar.

I have to agree, if I thought I was getting a "custom" Caparison, I would expect that didn't mean post-factory customization. I think that's like me calling my Les Paul Studio (see my trade feeler thread in guitars for a photo. Yes, shameless cross pormotion to my SPAM. Thanks and sorry) which I "customized" with black hardware a Custom Les Paul, playing the semantics game with Les Paul Custom... That's my input. Take it or leave it.

I also have a question, those tuners, are they some hind of Caparison custom (too much custome being thown around here...) 2 and 4 set? Just curious.

Best of luck with your sale. I hope whoever buys that guitar is happy with it.
