Speaker choice for early XTC

I have an early XTC and was wondering if they were voiced for a particular speaker (V-30's ?). I've been using it with 25's, but it's been sounding somewhat "boxy" lately, even after a tube change.

p.s. I've checked all the speakers I'm using...they're fine.
 
Ive just always used v30s with my bogners. Alot of guys are mixing a 30 with a 75. what kind of tone are u looking for?
 
I'm needing as much flexibility as possible....I go from funk to heavy and everything in-between. Clarity w/out being harsh is a big factor for me.
 
Been using greenbacks (G12M) with mine. Used V30s for years, but the greenbacks have a much smoother high end without losing clarity. Need to be careful with power though. I run a full stack.
