Anyways played my Katana Artist Mkll 112 combo and felt it sounded different.....

Like dryer....

Anyways....

Don't know why but I got a dabbed my fingers in water lightly and then applied some moisture to the cone of the speaker......

I didn't throw a bucket at the cone but sort of rubbed it with light water on my fingers and not fully but just here and there and dabs.....

Anyways next day plugged in and felt like it came alive and was as good or better than when I first bought it ....

Is there anything to speaker cones getting dry so to speak over the years?!?!?!? Figure there would be especially when it's colder than usual or you have a dryer heat than usual....

Don't know but yeah :dunno:

Best way I could put it.....

The Waza speaker sounded richer, fuller and more supple..... Applying slight moisture restored tone as good or better than when new IMO......

It helped a lot and well yeah I figure over the years it's good to rehumidify a speaker :dunno:

This is exactly why no one likes vintage speakers better than brand new, right out of the box, still moist ones. I mean you can hear when your tone sounds dry, it's because the actual speakers materials are literally too dry. You can clearly hear it. It's like when you feel your lips are chapped and dry, you just know it, so you put on some Blistex.

It's humid where I am - that's why my cabs sound so good Lol jk

Never a test I have thought about doing - and I have thought about quite a few.

Speakers are literally made of paper. And sure, slight changes to that paper equal changes in how they vibrate and produce sound. Humidity is a real factor in this. But I wouldn't go so far as to moisten my speakers lol... At some point ya just gotta accept you can't control every aspect of your "tone" and just get on with life

You get extra tone when you soak a fry cone in Coors Light beer.....

Or your fave IPA or you know liquor or wine or whatever for y'all real cork sniffers :dunno:

Just don't use none of that gay fruity Seltzer shit and you should be good.
