Speaker wire recommendations

I rewired a cab various times, and prefer thicker cables. I think Bogner also use big cables in their cabs. There was a thread on HRI by RACKDOCTOR, if i remember correctly.
I believe bogner used 10 gauge. I believe soldano used 12

If you want to see a thread where an idiot gets completely butthurt about gauge..

Hey, so, I had several jacks lying around; Cliff, Switchcraft #11, a random one, and I just got in a Switchcraft military spec.

The Mil spec stomped the other ones tonally. Not even close.

I would bet the new wiring added a bit of warmth to the top end and midrange.

The military spec has a clearer, more full bodied guitar tone. Each note has weight behind it, while retaining clarity and warmth.

My amp sounds louder overall with the mil spec.

The clean and lead channel are both full sounding and have a less stringent top end while still being fully present.

If you have not tried a milspec jack, I suggest you give it a go.

The 16 gauge wiring with the new military spec Switchcraft jack has taken the rig to the next level.

So glad I spent the $30 and 30 minutes to make the change.

14g stranded copper lamp cord for internal wiring with quality solder at the joints..
Cheap, easy to work with and lasts forever.
If it’s a Marshall cab with that has that dam stereo jack plate, throw the retarded circuit board in the trash and straight wire it with switchcraft jacks.
The teeny tiny solder paths on that board don’t give a shit how big the wiring is before or after it, and they do fail on occasion.
