Speaker Wiring Harness 2x12 upgrade

Hello there I have a 2x12 Marshall C212 cab with Marshall speakers, one is the Marshall Heritage (8 Ohm 80W), the other is a Marshall Vintage (8 Ohm 70W). Total RMS is 140W at 16 Ohms.

I would like to upgrade the speaker wiring harness with a better quality one.

Is it there a good one to get?

I think it's always best to learn soldering and make your own wiring. A soldered connection is more robust and has better signal transfer (it sounds better than solderless clips), but all of that is really splitting hairs. As long as the speaker cable is thick enough to transfer the energy, you're fine. It's not as drastic as using different cables with passive guitar pickups, where the cable essentially acts as part of the circuit. The amp sends a very strong signal to the cabinet, so as long as there is a solid connection capable of transferring that energy without choking, you're good to go. I really don't think you will hear a whole lot of difference there.

Maybe have a look at Tube Amp Doctor, Tube-Town, or Banzai Music. usually they sell stuff like that

IMHO, these pre-wired harnesses are just a rip-off. I mean, a $58 harness is just laughable. It's $3 for a meter of cable (like Cordial) and a couple of cents for the clips. The most expensive part is the jack ($8), but that's only needed for combos.

I totally agree with you. I'll never pay that money for a simple assembly. (I posted the link as reference).

I started learning soldering, now and then I do really basic repairs (i.e. headphones jack replacement), nothing professional, so I could try but I'd prefer to get a solid well made kit by a professional, at a reasonable price.

Years ago I was chatting via mail with a professional about it but it went nowhere in the end.

Stock wiring looks a little cheap, the thickness of wires seems to be barely functional, it could be definitely better.
