Speakers? Really loving the Scumback H75, surprisingly not loving the alnico Cream

What speakers have you been enjoying with your VH4/VH2 lately?

I just got a new lively rehearsal room set up and got a tune-up on my VH2 with 6L6s, and my Zilla Super Fatboy with a Scumback H75 and Alnico Cream and I dunno what it is, but the Cream just isn't doing it for me anymore. It sounds good like it always does but the alnico top end thing is getting to me. It's not like a V30 fizz but it's very apparent in this room. The H75 has really broken in and sounds fantastic. Easier to tame than I expected, even at lower volume, but cuts through with that classic woody singing tone with high gain or chimey blues.

Trying to figure out another speaker to pair with the H75. Not sure if the M75 would get too flubby with the VH2 low end. Another H75 might be too much of a good thing. I dunno. Thoughts? What have you been running lately and enjoying or surprised by?

I wouldn't think those two speakers would pair well, but I don't know shit about mismatching guitar speakers so.....

I like alnico for pickups and ceramic for my speakers. I have no idea how much it matters except to my back. Just seems to be a preference.

One thing nice if you have 2x12s is setting up in different areas of a room. I didnt like some mixes until I could adjust that way.

Those speakers feel very mid-heavy to me for an already mid-heavy amp. I’d suggest using something with a less thick midrange. A couple of ideas:

V30 + G12T-75 (classic combo)
V30 + G12H-75 (another classic)
G12T-75 from the 80s (white back)
Celestion V-Type + G12-65 (unusual but sound awesome together; link below)

Friedman cabs have a scooped midrange, so one of those 2x12s could be a fit too.

Probably need to damp down that room.
Especially the ceiling.
The top-end of a Cream is delightful.
Although it is lush all-round - That linearity is what it is.
Go through your whole rig first, then try the Cream just on its own.
Outside chance the voice-coil is mis-aligned.

Im a fan of the g12-100k for heavy stuff. It nails the Slipknot sound.
For rock and 80s metal stuff I prefer the v30s.
