What's everyone using with their Marsha/ Brown eye?
I've got a pair of 65w J's if interested.jski59":p5tn080g said:Scumback m75/h75 in a port city cab.
I'd like to try a j75 in place of the h75 one of these days for a little less high end sizzle.

Here's where I'm coming from in this particular case. I have cabs with Scumback M75s, Celestion T-75s, Celestion M-70s, and some kind of Eminence that was proprietary in some early 80's Marshall cabs. All of these cabs sound very different with all else equal, but we don't have to keep all else equal.IntenseJim":2njnn7br said:rupe":2njnn7br said:your speakers are the least important part of the equation (as long as they are of a decent quality and your amp has a responsive eq).
I disagree. I think the speakers make HUGE difference.

With the highly responsive and interactive eq on the Marsha, I can get any of these cabs to sound almost the same...definitely close enough that nobody would hear the difference in a live setting.
Are the M75s' similar to GB m25 75s'? Im going with a quad of these next rehersal.rupe":1in5898h said:Give me a break...I'm not on here 24/7rlord1974":1in5898h said:Where's rupe in this discussion?![]()

Scumback M75s are what I use for the most part, but I honestly think any decent speaker will do the job. I know some folks are gonna flame me, but I'll give a more in depth response tomorrow that essentially says that your speakers are the least important part of the equation (as long as they are of a decent quality and your amp has a responsive eq).
Yes, they are similar IMO. I think the greenbacks have a more aggressive edge to them whereas the scumbacks are smoother sounding.supersonic":2rj4gq5p said:Are the M75s' similar to GB m25 75s'?
