splawn cabs kick ass, i have one and i love it.
How's it compare to the Uberkab?

It has a bit more low end and smoother high end. I've played them side by side using the titan.

The splawn 412 is built so well cheap generic speakers sound amazing through it. Not many cabs can pull that off. I love mine. It beats my legacy 412 into a pulp.

I've compared it side by side with orange and diezel as well and it's got a warmer smoother sound than those. The diezel cab is like the mesas in that it's very dry and agressive in the upper end. I think the splawn compares mostly to the bogner xtc cab but I still think that it's smoother than the xtc cab.

I think a mills cab may be the only cab I'd rather use but I would want to play them side by side. for half the cost of a mills cab though.... that extra small bit of possible better sound sure does cost a pretty penny.
Yep... The law of diminishing returns... :D

my 1st splawn cab had SB25's, now both my cabs have x pattern of man o war / govs.

congrats...they are awesome cabs. I will get another someday. I had v30s in mine, so I'm not familiar SB25. But it was most definitely the warmest cab I've ever owned, yet still cut thru. Highs were nice and smooth. I compared side by side to Uber and oversize recto. It was the warmest of the 3, I didn't hear that it had more low end than any of the cabs though. It sat more in the middle of the spectrum where the recto sounded most modern, the Bogner sounded more in between and the Splawn was a bit more classic sounding. They do have the ability to smooth out the high end of any amp though. If you have a bright amp and wanna tame that a bit, these are good cabs to try. Something in the build, maybe the grill cloth.

The gov/mow's are no slouch in those cabs. Great speakers for hard rock/metal tones imo

Yup. It's smooth and warm. Another thing it does is it seems to tame the low-end thump a bit. The QR has a pretty thumpy bass response with the Mojotone/GB combo. Probably the GB's being a lower-wattage speaker.

Never heard those in person so I can't comment.

What is the current thought on the Splawn 412? I have a brand new Splawn 412 and love it. I was close to selling because they are a pain to move but I love her. Mine has Celestion Lynchbacks. My favorite seakers are Celestion G12K-100s and Vintage 30s mso I may go with a blend of these two.

Do the unloaded Splawn 4x12's come with casters? If not, I'm wondering if 2 sets of the Mesa Track-Lock Casters would work on these cabs?

they are great cabs for the money imho. I have a straight/bottom Splawn 4x12 with man'owars and guv'nors that I pair with my older QR (no gears and shared eq for both channels)

I have a 4x12 loaded with Small Blocks (not sure what an SB25 is) and it definitely kicks much ass. Close to if not the best sounding cab I have. I also have a Splawn 2x12 with Small Blocks and it sounds massive -- better than most other 4x12s.

Did they used to make a 25-watt Small Block? My current Small Blocks are rated at 55 watts.

FWIW, I also have an Avatar 2x12 loaded with Splawn Big Blocks - - also a killer! The Big Blocks have a more Heritage than GB feel. Can't go wrong either way!!!

I'm seriously looking at Splawn cabs right now as well. Has anyone tried his 4x12 Hybrid Slant? Its intriguing but there seems to be very little actual public opinion on it via google. My other choice would probably be the straight cab.

The value for $ of these cabs looks to be unbeatable.

I've got a Splawn 4x12 bottom loaded with English GB's and I love it so much my eyes are welling up as I type this. :D

Mine came with casters.

I am probably going to replace the Lynchbacks with a blend of Vintage 30s and G12K-100s which are my two favorite speakers in the world.

I have a Splawn Hybrid Slant 4x12. I think it's awesome. I'm not a fan of any Eminence speakers I've ever heard, so I got It unloaded. Mine is currently loaded with Weber Legacies (formerly called Scumbacks).
I haven't directly compared it to a Splawn straight or slant 4x12, but I have heard it next to other slants and straights, including my Voltage straight. It basically sounds like you'd expect. It's a slant with the speakers all firing in the same direction. Not quite as deep as my straight. But it is very balanced and smooth sounding. I like all four speakers firing in the same direction, and the hybrid projects upwards better than a straight. The baffle seems more tilted upward. Sometimes, straights can sound congested when compared to it.

I am finding that my Bogner 212OS and Stone Age 212C, both with slanted front baffle, sound smoother, better off axis soounds and more open sounding than any 412 I have owned or played.

I haven't tried a Stone Age cab, but I have plenty of experience with a Bogner OS 2x12 next to many different 4x12s, and this makes absolutely zero sense to me.

What??? My Bogner semi open back 212OS, sounds as big and full, maybe a bit more full than a 412.
