Splawn Competition - this guy

I miss my Quick Rod, fine amps. I tried some different output tubes but never found much of a difference. Maybe cranked super loud, but for recording the mic didn't seem to care at all!
 
I just saw a pic of the two supersports going to the Bushido code guys with KT88's plus the old/new switch and mid switch. Good god that made my G.A.S. flair up bad. I kinda found recently that I dont really give a shit about a clean channel so a simple clean is all I need. As soon as I get a few extra bucks Im definitely going to grab one. I just grabbed a Peavey 5150 on impulse but I have to wait until the Shelter in Place to end before I can get it shipped from the Music Go Round location. I kinda have a feeling my 1936V cab would pair nicely with a Splawn.

Correct. And no pots or sockets are board mounted.

Are you talking about the Facebook post where they both had a basket weave headshell? I didn't know those had KT88s if that's what you are talking about.
 
hi to all...i would just add some info about tubes...all preamp tubes are JJ ecc83s...I tried some different combinations with Tung sol,Ruby HG,Sovtek WC&LPS etc...only change I like better is EHX in V1 then rest JJ's...

Good to know on the JJs. I love me some JJs.
 
I owned el34's loaded Quickrod and Nitro with 6550's...to me KT77's help to tame these brass mids and keep low end tight but full...Deffinitely better match for modern stuff...
