Splawn modded Marshall '59 SLP

It's pretty well known that the Splawn modded Marshall's don't suffer from the weird mids as much as the production amps do, get with the program Vlad.

The guys who like/play the Splawn modded Marshall's are almost a whole separate fanbase than his production amps, from what I've seen.

Of course they do... because Scott no longer makes them.. so naturally that makes them "Better" than the production models. I'm sure the 3 preamp models will eventually sound "Better" to the 4 preamp models and the fx loop volume control that Scott put in on the new amps will "change something" so that it doesn't sound "nearly" as good as the "older ones".

whatever... I'm deaf so it doesn't really matter what I say.

I had scott put super special one of a kind chicken head knobs on there....it's really the whole secret to my sound....

Things would be horribly lopsided if someone didn't provide a counter balance. It's all good though.

Ya, that was w/d/w but it was literally a cheap sony digital camera, just set for video-- recording in mono off the camera mic..

Here is another one w/ a Mesa/Boogie MKIII combo (Blue Stripe) a bit more effects on this one

Some serious hangtime with that boogie, nothing like boogie sustain

I love my MKIII's!!! The Splawn Marshall is a friend's amp. My buddy also has 2 Cameron modded Marshalls that I'll be doing some stuff with too, and Pat (mentoneman) is sending me a couple of my amps that he's had for awhile-- I can't wait to get those here (Marshall 6100 30TH Anniversary-- blue w/ EL34's, and my '65 BF Fender Super Reverb (Head) that John Suhr just gave a good once over.

I never gave that phrase much thought until I actually listened to this clip and while I like the playing, I definitely dont like what Im hearing in the mids and yes , its weird!!!

I agree... the recording from behind the cabs, from the little condenser mic in the cheap digital camera... definitely doesn't capture the sound that is in the room.

Definitely a fun to play through amp and it does sound very nice in person. Hopefully I can get around to doing a proper recording with it.
