Well ... got the bass and drums done yesterday morning. A friend on another forum sent me his Earthquaker Devices Monarch last night so I definitely wanted to track with it.
This is the first time in like 6 years that I have actually hooked up a mic and recorded an amp. Here's what all I used:
• Splawn Quickrod on Gear 1
• Splawn 2x12 cab w/Celestion Creamback 65's
• Sennheiser e609 mic
• Gibson "Custom V" w/Duncan Custom
• Black Arts Coven (left guitars = Black Forest, right guitars = Pharaoh)
• Earthquaker Devices Monarch (center guitars/leads)
• Ibanez BTB Bass
• Studio Devil Bass Pro plug-in
• Steven Slate Drums Platinum (Vintage American Rock kit)
• Logic Pro X
I may redo the vocals. Not my best performance but I ain't mad at 'em! All guitars are one track all the way through. Leads are "off the cuff". (I'm a one man show for a few recording projects)
I am REALLY pleased at how the Coven and Monarch track. The Monarch would be a little redundant on my board as I think it has very similar flavors of what I am dialing in on the Coven but it was cool to try out. EQD is on my radar for sure. This is certainly not your average Splawn tone. That first hit where everything comes in just makes me smile. Worth mentioning, this is also the first time using my fingers playing bass ...
Also, I am very pleased that the amp is not set super loud and I can A) generated good feedback and B) get a pretty damn thick sound. Glad I didn't invest in a very expensive modeler.

Anywho ... Here's the track. Its called "Squirrel = Nut"

Lyrics:
I get up in the morning and I go
Some eggs and bacon and a cup of "joe"
Get in the car, an hour drive ahead
To try and win a race where rats are led
When I get there I'm 20 minutes late
Always the last out of the starting gate
I hope my boss don't see me comin' in
I don't know why I try, I'll never win
And I don't know I even try
When I get home thinking things are fine
My house is dark, someone's drawn the blinds
The signed were there, I guess I should have read
Who's shoes are those underneath the bed
And I don't know why, I even try
Can't escape, I know I'll never win
Don't judge too harshly ...
