SPLAWN QUICKROD 100 Loop volume question

Nah, just do something nice for her at the same time. :)

To me the amp sits somewhere between the Marshall & a Rectifier. It does the classics with my greenback cab, just a little brighter and more aggressive than a stock Marshall head. Plug it into a V30 cab & you get that Recto punch to the face. I've had other 6V6 amps & I was honestly surprised at how big the Splawn's balls were.

For the OP, when I use the loop volume & crank the master it is more saturated than when I don't, but not a tremendous amount. I suspect it would be a lot more pronounced with a 100W head. If I had neighbors I'd definitely be keeping it, but I don't so I've got room for the big glass. :D

I always have the loop engaged and use loop volume all the time with the master around 10 oclock. If you just use the master with the loop off and you drop the master down really low it get thin sounding, like most 100 watt amps will do. I had an older Splawn without the loop volume and just kept a volume control in the loop which does the same thing, just more convenient now to have it built in.

Here's a good example
