Here we go...... Gear 1 and Gear 2. Had a ball making these. This amp is so mean and versatile ! If there is a certain sound/style/effect/demonstration you'd like to hear out of this amp please let me know and I'll do my best.

That sounds fricken sweeeet to my my ears, very nice...now the Quickrod gas within is even worse :D

I like it. I've had a couple over the years and couldn't bond but your's sounds great.

I know what you mean. I kept my 2009 for 2 years trying to get it to sound like the 3 pre clips I was hearing. Never happened. Was a frustrating ordeal.

I knew when I plugged this one in that it was what I had wanted my old Qzr to sound like.

Man, that sounds nice! I owned a Competition years ago, which is basically a 50-Watt, one channel Quickrod. I loved the amp but like others have mentioned, sometimes I found myself struggling to figure out the "it" factor. I can tell from your clips, especially the second one, that the amp has an improved tone. There is more apparent saturation and harmonics that I heard on other amps but was subtle on the Splawns.

Putting a Ts9 in front of gear 1 is where its at for me. Im going to post another video hopefully today with a boosted gear 1 or 2. Amazing how versatile this amp is and it can cover heavier territory than my 2009 QR did.

so you mentioned in the other thread that the B+ option doesnt necessarily sound different, but it feels different. Could you describe how it feels different? Is it more spongy @ lower volumes?

Is there a fee for this option on an order?

I think these clips capture what it is. Kinda has that Mesa Lonestar feel, but with a Quickrod sound. Not as fast of attack. I hear it totally. I also hear a little more saturation as that is what will happen lowering the voltage.

Glad you made some clips. Sounds good. Also, glad you are happy with the new gear...

Keep in mind it lowers the amp to 80 watts so you can push it easier so it sounds better at low volume. It certainly is more forgiving than the QR I owned previously. I dont feel like im fighting it. Its hard to demonstrate the feel change but I assure you that it is there and it is subtle. This is still a QR.

I think the improvements in the QR since 2009 just make for a better product. If you want a power scaled version that has a little more forgiving feel than get the drop B+. if your not sure give Scott a call. He may very well talk you out of the B+ option depending on your needs.

Well, well. Speaking of the Competition, if I remember right this guy knows what my amp sounded like. :)

Sounds great!

I got my QR working again so anytime you wanna get together and a/b the two I'm ready

Hey Tom ! What was the issue ? Just tube failure I hope.

Sounds killer! After years of playing Bogners, the switch to Splawn was an adjustment. At first I missed some of that sag, but now I'm really digging the tightness of the amp. Although I gotta admit, a little squishiness is tempting.

I have a 2008 Nitro and a 2012 Nitro also. They are both more unforgiving than my QR but the Nitro is so much more saturated that I dont mind much.

Here we go with same settings but boosted with a Maxon Ts9

Awesome ! I'd love to get clips of an A/B of the two.

Im going to try to get a 2012 Nitro vs 2012 QR clip done today or tomorrow.

The amp sounds good. I would dial in much more treble. And I prefer the unboosted clips.
