for me a Keeley modded SD-1 into an OCD

:bleh:
I don't no what to tell you, it sounds awesome with a carr Hammerhead 1x12 combo,I've been using this as my main sound playing bar gigs just about every weekend for probably 4 years, haven't had a complaint yet

Up from the ashes bump to see if anyone is having any more luck stacking pedals.

RVS clip is stellar and I think he should do another stacking clip. :rawk:

I need to go back and try the ts-10 into the sd-1 again and see how far I can get. Also wondering if I should try bad monkey into sd-1, or would that be to much mid hump in a row?

I was sitting in on a band rehearsal last night, and found that the Hao Rust Booster > Nobels ODR-1 plus was smooth with a bit of edge. Gain at 3:30, level at 10:30 on the HAO, and the Nobels was JUST breaking up. Real nice bluesy drive with sparkle.

Tube Screamer into BOSS SD-1... some of the best tone I've ever heard... works with every amp I've tried.

Do you do this just for leads or for rythm as well? I have Keeley modded versions of both pedals and never thought of trying this.

My bad. I must have mis-read the title of the thread.....

I have never tried stacking boosts. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

Didn't Criss Oliva from Savatage do this for his main heavy tone?

i just set my od 808 as clean boost and put it in front of a jet city shockwave into my old peavey special. YIKES! too bad it's evening or i'd crank it up a bit and see what it's got. i have to admit that it's pretty cool. i can boost the clean.. then switch to a lead tone.. go to crunch.. and back to clean that way. that's a really neat trick for a single channel amp. thanks for posting this.

Anyone else like two boosts better then one?

I like running the EP-Pre into an RC Booster. I dig how the guitar's volume reacts with them both on.

I made a little clip. Starts off with the guitar rolled back quite a bit.
Don't know if you can hear how nice it feels with the volume rolled back.
Ed Degenaro showed me that years ago at NAMM. I actually thought about it but never thought it would sound good but I was blown away by how cool it was. IIRC he had an emma Reza pedal and a fulltone fulldrive stacked and it sounded pretty sick
I think it was Emma Reeza and demeter Fat Boost or Maxon SD9. Actually still do the same when I use the Axe-Fx as well.

Cool!

i've got a couple of other pedals i wouldn't mind trying this trick with. what a slick way to get around a single channel amp. even though the special is solid state.. i think someone spritzed "essence of tube amp" on the heat sinks. it does a very nice nashville clean and takes pedals really well. vince gill supposedly used specials and had quite a collection of them at one time. (20+)
