Steel Panther on AGT

I have no idea why they are doing the show. I think it started as a joke and they just went with it. Vergara knew who they were and mentioned they played her husband's birthday party so you know they are banking good cash if they are doing private hollywood bashes. They also seem to do well enough on tour so maybe they know the well will run dry soon so time to pad their index funds so they can live off the monthly when they no longer have the schtick. It will also pay for Michael's plastic surgery.

They just got a shitload of publicity for it, I think that was the point. Recent interviews with both Satchel and Star point that they’re not dropping their shtick any time soon, it’s what made ‘em famous and they know it works but more importantly, they crack themselves up doing it and enjoy what they do as a result.

They do some really great interviews where they break character and answer questions seriously, especially Star. Apparently they had a talk a few years back in regards to dropping the shtick and maybe just writing 80’s style metal but said “Nope, we’re gonna keep doing it”

I can certainly see it getting old to people who just see them on YouTube, but they’re a fucking riot live. Probably one of the last bands where you’ll see tits onstage, too. The last 3x I saw them a bunch of chicks from the audience got up and stood around with their tits out, which I haven’t seen since the 90’s. They admit they’ve got a few jokes they re-use, but you can tell how much of it’s improvised on the spot when they do shit like pick someone’s shirt or a local bar or something to make fun of. That and they still jump into the occasional cover if someone will yell it out in the audience. It’s like going to a comedy club with guitars….and tits.

This

When I saw them live, there was a smoking hot chick with an epic rack standing next to me in the pit.

Much to my delight, she was one of the 10 or so women that they called up on stage to whip out the jugs

Tibbies aside, they were fuckin phenomenal live IMO

The only thing that is bummer to me is the last 2 albums have zero killer riffs or solos like the first 3 or 4 albums were stacked with
Also nothing really catchy and with the shut down in 2020 it's surprising because you would think they could come up with way more riffs and clever lyrics melodies. I'm pretty certain Russ drives the bus writing both and making a lot of decisions.

I did a meet and greet in Sac in 2017 and the show was indeed hilarious and easy on the eyes. In fact there are 2 or 3 YT vids from that show.

Ok, here is a couple of questions. Star is a married but you will see him kissing gals while they leave the stage. Also Russ never does 'get any' other than some dry humping but he at one point had a wedding ring on. What gives?

Also they joke about drugs but Russ is super fit and they never drink on stage so I'm guessing they don't party at all ?

You don’t by any chance think wrestling is real, do you?

Ya know, I never even listened to a whole album of theirs. There’s a few songs I really love, “Fat Girls” makes me lose my shit every time that chorus comes in with “Thaarrrr she blows!” and I guess I just dig hearing them live and if I remember I’ll check ’em out after. I really treat that band like a comedy act in that I’m not big on listening to comedy albums but love going to see it live.

And yeah, Star was hangin’ all over chicks and he was the only one that seemed to be the same dude onstage as he was off. I dunno how much he’s still in show mode during meet and greets but he was plentiful with the hugs and keeping his arm around chicks!

I’m guessing those dudes did all their partying years ago. Hahaha no one who actually does cocaine talks about doing cocaine like they do.

I've seen them a couple of times on the last few years and to tell you the truth I get tired of all the non stop raunchy crap as opposed to observing how good the band really is. HOWEVER -- I get the feeling that their attorney's had a real long talk with them about proper conduct and not touching the bitches . Lawsuits not good !!!! I noticed they played the game but none of them touched anyone inappropriately .

Damn shame!

It's strange seeing them on the show. I think they're way too good to appear on a show like that but then again, if they win, the option of a permanent Vegas gig probably doesn't suck.

Here is a question, what does the 'woke' culture think of them? o_O Seem like the audience liked em except that one guy plugging his ears
TC Electronic cut ties with them a few years back because woke culture discovered them and threw a twitter tantrum ?

Going with their real names , Ralph Sanez and Russ Parrish put on a killer show when I saw them in the VH tribute band Atomic Punks back around 2002

Had the pleasure of opening for those guys in San Diego in the late 90s with the AC/DC tribute I was in. They were so good. It was ridiculous.
