Carvin Audio went out of business.
Vai only use Fractal for effects, not amp models. Dave Wiener's recording room used to be full of Friedmans, PRSs, and Fryettes. Recently it became filled with Marshalls. I think That's a hint.crwnedblasphemy":37jmcaqh said:He uses Fractal anyway. Cliff actually was at our venue with him setting up both his XL’s when he got them

The Legacy has been a fairly cheap amp and the JEM line has had more action in the Premium and Jr. lines than it has the MIJ lines. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Marshall head coming from him and nor would I be surprised if it were a single channel head. He's never used the clean channel on the Legacy's, he just rolls his volume back. I've got zero doubts they'd sell a shitload of Vai sig Marshall's if they went in the $9-1500 range, especially if they kept it as a single channel.
Bogner hasn't done any sigs, have they? Egnater would be a good possibility since he was using those along with Bogner's right up until the Legacy came out and they've also got some good heads for pretty low prices. Friedman was my first thought, but as I posted above, I really think he'll be going for something with a consumer-friendly price.
I'm hoping for a Marshall head. Single channel or not, I think they could do something really cool and we'd essentially be getting something similar to a Jose Marshall.
Wouldn't be surprised, he used them ages ago, so...Chris O":1dkiea6n said:Valtyr":1dkiea6n said:Bogner
Yep.
Just curious, how does one get to just spend some time with Vai in his studio?JP Overdrive":1fd26xjc said:I spent a couple hours with Steve just lately, at his studio, he was interested in trying MEZZABARBA amps, i brought him a Z35 head and a MzeroOverdrive head, he is been using them , along other amps ( he has a few heads set-up-ready to go, on a wall-like piece of forniture ) I did ask about hooking up with a new amp company, he told me that he was getting calls from many people, did not know what he was going to do next yet. He has kept the MEZZABARBA amps so far.

Seeing that he has been using the Fender in unison with his Carvin head for years now, I could also see a Fender partnership, ala EVH, as they have the capital to do something on that scale.
