I've just built them into this very first Einstein-Combo-Proto, which Peter gave me to make an amp out of it again . . .
I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing more about this project. Are you building a straight Einstein combo or are you doing a tweaked version? What tones are you trying to get? I really loved the stock Einstein combo I played at NAMM a couple years ago...

Besides the combo-enclosure and the chassis it has nothing to do with Einstein actually (why should I copy one, I have one here). The OT is a Mercury Magnetics, PT is Hammond, choke is Diezel. Gifts from Peter

It will have three full channels (like my "TwoStone" which I have on Youtube), but the "unique" thing is, that it can be run with 4x6V6 or a pair of EL34.
First channel is pretty much a DlxRev, not as HiFi as Einstein. Crunch will be like my modded MArshall (definiely Diezel inspired) and lead is smooth, smooth and smooth - or if it is too similar to my other builds I will try a 4 gainstages "Cameron-inspired" thing without a CF. Not sure yet. Just a mix of everything, you know :D

Very cool! I vote 4 gainstage "Cameron-inspired" for one channel... Keep us up on progress...

My amps can sound heavy already, Steve - its me who sounds like a softie :D

Big Hair Mark has one of my "WhiteSnakes", which he uses in his studio and he has sent me this (no idea who it is) file.
Guitar sounds = Duesentrieb :D (and some studio magic of course)

Awesome - I'll check out the clip tonight on some good speakers...

Merci. I'm sure yours will be better build than this - I'm using mostly old chassis where I layout my stuff after the chassis - and have to make compromises - and not vice versa like you, which is way better ;)

Well... yours looks excellent to me. We'll see how drilling/punching a custom chassis works out. This weekend I built thick plexiglass drilling templates for the front and rear panels. I have my nice new blank chassis now and will drill/punch it out over the next two days. Then I'll punch the preamp/power tube and cap holes on top. I'm going to wait until I've got a bit of the amp built before I drill the mounting holes for the boards to make sure I have them placed well... This is FUN stuff!

Wow. Templates. Very cool, Steve.
I kinda had to do it that way to be accurate enough so that I can get my supplier to make me accurate punched chassis' and faceplates going forward. After this prototype is done, I don't want to have to punch every chassis myself from a blank... I tried just measuring directly on the chassis itself, but it is nowhere near as accurate. When I'm done, I can also just send the templates to my supplier, which will make things easier...

Merry Christmas Steve and everybody else :)
Very cool, Olaf! Clip time!

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Check out my other thread - I posted my chassis drilling process and showed my chassis with the components in as a test!

I already had a look, Steve (busy building crap amps :D ).
Looks awesome !

We're off to the family (first mine, then my wife's in France) - will be back early january - and will visit Yoeri (and install a PPIMV into one of his Marshalls) in Belgium.
