stiff amps is the new krank amps

seems tony krank is starting over with another amp company. not too sure what to think of it especially that the audio clips on the site are pretty....bad. but seems pretty decent prices but i'm wondering if they'd be worth a damn. here's the site.

Eh, I'm never a huge fan of the double entendre naming practices. Freidman gets away with it because it's a superior product. Krank/Stiff will need to deliver.
 
I see the same image is carried over from looking at their site. Krank and Stiff are among the worst amp names I can think of. I can give Krank a pass since its the guy's last name, but stiff just sounds juvenile to me, but that must be the target market.
 
I agree with all statements, but i don't write off someone immediately but we'll see if there are some actual decent clips to listen to. i had a chadwick amp and was a good amp but it wasn't for me.
 
I will never own an amp called the "Little Stiffy," I don't care how it sounds.
 
I played a Krank next to my Recto I used to own and the recto stomped it. Not quite as tight but the Mesa was so much more "alive" sounding. I remember liking some Krank tones when they made their debut. Cool recording amp but stale for me in person.
I think the third Slipknot album had some cool Krank tones and at the time I really liked the tone. Sounded very dry and tight and a lot different than most of the radio metal of that era (which were mostly rectos, lol)

Clips don't sound too bad actually in this vid.. I think the 19AD sounds pretty good, nice and dry and chunky. The VHT stood out more than the higher gain stiff though. If they have good prices, I can't see these being any worse than bugera. "Stiff" is a lame amp company name though...
 
See, I think that demo is about useless for much other than how tight the amp is. A bunch of palm mutes don't tell me a whole lot.
 
That I agree with.. too many chugga chugga vids. Same with the Randall stuff, all i hear is chuggalug.

Same reason why I hate amp demos where all they do is shred.
