Still love my Bogner 101b halfstack and still love this vid

At the same time, sometimes I feel like the 101b lacks openess but its mostly because that amp is designed for a big stage and needs to breath. Crack that volume and its all there. I have been contemplating this C40 mod as of late though.

If You feel so, the C40 mod is definitely the one to do. After removing the cap the amp starts to breath. C40 cap to my ears removes too much highs and "squishes" the poweramp's tone. I really regret that I haven't started modding my amp with removal of that cap. Maybe I wouldn't have to dig in it that deep I did.

After I removed C40 the tone became more present, the dynamics of poweramp was increased. Also it removed sizable amount of "blanket effect". This mod, alongside with changing dirty Treble pot to linear, would be enough to "fine-tune" that amp without losing Bogner flavour and chewiness.

Yep Still love my 20th X. Had it since 2008. Down to a Mesa Mk III and 20th X. Looking to add a SLO after all my CC are paid off.

I think i would experiment with pedals infront of the Blue ch before I would mod it. That said i enjoy all of the XTCs channels very much

Ibanez ts808 in front oc the blue or I also use a boss geq-7
