the new helios clips are great, loved the goldfinger, and i love carol ann clean and lead tone,

but the peacemaker is so simple and just punches my face every time.
such a great platform for clean to mean marshall plexi tones.

ultimately i'd probably have a two amp rig, peacemaker set for rock crunch and lead, and a carol ann for fendery clean, and for fat warm ej/bonomassa lead tones for that extra fine tuning

but as it stands i set PM clean and get rock from plexitone pedal and fat leads from ethos so i'm emulating the two amp rig with pedals to great effect.

and it's the only amp i've ever owned that when playing live i couldn't believe the tone i was hearing coming from my rig was pretty much what i always imagined i wanted to hear.

any of you have that experience with your favorite amp?

Yeah, my Peacemaker .. even-though mine is modded, it blows me away every-time to the point I am putting up my KR 7 for sale, and I never thought I would even consider that. I played through HiGainers non modded PM and its just awesome as well, would love a 2 ch version with HG on one ch and clean on the other.

Hey hey... Get with the program! Each year you have to sell whichever amp you own and chase whatever just hit the market!

I've not gassed too hard for any amp since building by non master volume Plexi clone several years ago. That amp, an attenuator, and Tubescreamer and I'm done. Plus that setup records better than any amp I've ever owned - It's definitely amp I'll always keep.

i hear yah.

if vic ever came up with a 2 channel amp where channel 1 was his special edition plexi 45 clean, and channel 2 was dimed peacemaker at any volume, i'd be really happy!

i'm too much of an effects freak to ever be ok with something that chill but it is attractive to imagine ultra simple rigs too.

the axe ultra was by far the easiest rig to ever set up/tear down, but i never stopped tweaking that contraption trying to find the realz.

carol ann and peacemaker, turn on, adjust volume, done. fat notes!!!!

I know that sound and it's a good one.

I had a similar experience. The first time I took my "new to me" '69 Marshall plexi to a rehearsal, my drummer and I jammed for about 10 minutes before we took a small break. He stood up, gave me a look, scratched his head, and said "that's IT." From clean to mean with the twist of a guitar volume knob. All I ever needed -- it's a good feeling and also odd--no GAS at all ever anymore, because nothing else compares.

i had my wdw mojave rig in my living room for the last week, much to my wife's chagrin, experimenting with my effects and tones.

before i had to tear it apart to reconfig for live play this weekend i hit record on my phone and rocked one last tone out of the mighty 'Maker

i don't really know the right chords but its all about the TONE

Still love the Deliverance 60. Contentment is a great thing.

i swear bronoccio the first time i heard you play that thing it was so YOUR tone.. you couldn't just phone in the high gain thing with it, you had to fight for the notes and sound, and in the process your personality came out clear and strong.

if you ever attempt to sell that thing i will definitely watch your back by punching your face.
in a loving brotherly way of course.

Yes. Since I built the final tweak of the Cherry Bomb prototype (which is the current production model), I am completely satisfied from an amp standpoint and that is really what I set out to do with the whole project. There are so many tones in it, more than I even anticipated in the design process. It's everything I ever wanted in a guitar amp from a feature standpoint, and as my tastes evolve, I keep getting new things from it just by tweaking the controls...

yours is a great one too steve and inspired by two rock tone greats--mojave and cameron!

ps what you folks listening to these days?

i went on an itunes spree and picked up andy timmons that was then and this is now from 02 and what a player and tone!

also oz noy schitzophrenic for some odd twist and turns playing and sounds, elvis costello and burt bacarach painted from memory for amazing classic songwriting and production, supertramp breakfast in america for nostalgia, and singles from holdsworth sand distance versus desire for futuristic tones, greg v tailgate troubador rusting soul for manly tele dirt, heart performing stairway to heaven live at kennedy for the members of led zep because it was such an incredible moment, 5th dimension one less bell to answer and dionne warwick alfie because i'm a bacarach freak, gambale leave ozone alone because he has a sweep meltdown on that one, marc coen walking through memphis live, lukather transition for tasty return to roots, bernhoft c'mon talk for master looping skills, sugarloaf green eyed lady for 70s rock hit flashback, gary morris live title track because he was my former boss and the recording of two acoustics and his voice is one of my favorites and the rocktron intellifex was used for gtr chorusing/verb and live vocal effects, the beatles yesterday because if i have to explain you are dead to me

and afternoon delight performed by the cast of glee featuring john stamos for the ultimate pillow biter points. ( actually the harmony and production on that track are killer and my 15 yr old daughter is in choir and a fan). :)

monster crunch incoming!!!

rudy sarzo...lol!
the story kage told me about stumbling into his dressingroom and catching him by himself standing in front of his mirror licking his bass is all i can ever think of now when his name pops up!

Agreed on all points and I would expect nothing less! I do at some point want the Fryette loop installed and also a D212. I'm still on the fence with the paisley super shiva. May end up selling it.

the shiva is a great amp and the paisley is cool. it's nice to have options, but it's also nice to have money :D

What I'd like to have is the clean tones I've heard you post. Awesome delays and verbs with crystal clean notes driving it. Glorious...

Oh, and a Peacemaker...
