Have been smoking for 24 years so its going to be hard but I'll handle it.

Good luck Arild! I'm sure this will be one of the best choices you will ever make

My karmic chi energy to ya, Braddah... I tried a month ago and it didn't work for me, but I'm going to keep trying till I ditch it... It's so stupid to smoke - waste of years, health, life and money.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! AWESOME CHOICE BRO!!!!!!!

I quit 5yrs ago after 20yrs of smoking. Best thing I ever did!...one of the hardest things I ever did as well. Just think of all the cash you will save...not to mention the years added to your life

You can do it! Good luck man!

keep at it, you've got the right mindset and the truthful reasons

congrats to the OP. i have not touched a cigarette or a cigar since new years. dont plan to go back either. its easy to quit when you dont buy them, and you dont bum them. eventually you dont even think about it at all - and you realize that medically and financially you are better off and that its a waste

plus i pick up all of the butts out of my yard all of the time....makes me realize all of the trash it caused as well

Good luck, I stopped a 1 1/2 years ago after 24 years of puffing.. It is still kinda tough sometimes, I have been freaking out without them during stressy times, but I cannot go back to smoking again.

Congrats! Next week is my week, I'm tired of smoking. Too expensive, bad for you, stinks up the clothes, etc. I was going to quit this weekend until I remembered I was going to a concert this Saturday. No way I'll be able to resist the temptation.

Awesome Arild  I quit back in 2000. It saves you a bit of money too but more importantly, your health.

Cheers,
Mike

and i forgot how bad it smells ,its funny but now that i quit everytime i walk past someone who does smoke ,thats all you smell...im not sure if im just sensitive to it because of just quiting or its such a strong smell on people, some days you still want to smoke but the desire not to smoke is stronger..

best of luck 2 ya, i quit 2.5 yrs ago and i'm so much better off without them. so here to your quitting !

good for you!

I know you will be much better off in the end, even though it may suck at first.! baby steps if needed.

+1

you feel a big difference if you decide to excersise - makes it all worthwhile when you need to catch your breathe

Do everything humanly possible to stay 'Quit'.

It is a terrible way to die. My mother died from emphysema from smoking. You just end up slowly suffocating. Panic attacks because you can't breathe. You body is oxygen depleted and gets all f'ed up. It is a terrible terrible way to go out. Can't tell you how awful it is to watch a loved one die from it. If you need motivation to quit, think about you mother laying in a hospital bed, sqeezing your hand with a terrified look on her face because she can't pull in a breath.

Good luck and do whatever it takes....

ALL non-smokers are sensitive to it.

It feels awesome if you're wasted, but the cigarette smell just sucks, imo.

You can do it! C'mon, it'll be a walk in the part to quit, just remember how much better you're going to feel once you're broken through, and how much your lungs will thank you! Get some nicotine gum if you need, and drink plenty of caffeine, since I've heard that it really helps cravings. I've never been a smoker, but I'm a health nut and get psyched when I see people trying to quit smoking.
