Strange noises from my PRS Archon 100

It's only happening on the lead channel at 100w. Switch to 50 and it goes away.

Switch it manually and see what happens. Unplug the footswitch.

Tried it with with and without the footswitch, and with and without the FX loop being used. Tried both speaker jacks.

Try a good tube in each preamp spot. Worth a try to see if its a tube?

Yeah, pretty sure its a tube. Since you say it only does it in 100w mode leads me to believe it's a power tube.

99% of these threads end up with a bad tube.

I just swapped the two 'lead gain' tubes. I'm still getting one 'pop' when I first turn it off standby, but so far the air popper hasn't returned!

Yep. Those amps are easy to bias too. Sounds like one of the two that get used in 100 watt, assuming it cuts two out when reducing wattage?
