If you want a true vintage-spec design, it's tough to beat Kelton Swade. I was prepared to buy a Nash Tele until I tried one of Kelton's reproductions...it was simply a better guitar in every respect.

Impressive roster of users, that is for sure! Pricey stuff, but still a couple thousand less than a Masterbuilt Fender... Assuming he is a one man shop that is pretty good.

I'd get the guys at MJT to finish a high quality body and neck just the way I wanted, buy some top notch hardware and have a great tech put it all together.

MJT has really got the authentic relicing down to a tee.

Looked at one of the high-end options as well Scott Lentz guitars, although non relic'd and a different game. Exactly what is it that is special about these? The hardware and his selection of wood and woodworking? Maybe get some ideas for an MJT build with custom hardware and the rest.

Why not buy a Stratocaster?

I bought a strat. Not relic'd. Had Jerry at luxxtone plane the fretboard to a 12 radius, put Jumbo frets on it. New bridge. Arcane Pickups.
thing screams. But its still got that Even C, stock strat neck. which is kind of a bummer.

the Luxxtones, man they are something else, they play like the best broken in strat ever. Need to save up for one.

I've changed out the pickups in all my Stratocasters. Electronics as well. Good fret level and polish and I'm good.

However the Fender Modern "C" neck profile is my all time favorite. Perfect for me.

I might try some stainless steel frets one day. I'm interested.

For the luxxtones choppa S models, what are the typical turnaround times on these? Although a subjective comment and opinion, is the feel as good or better than the Suhr guitars?

I believe Luxxtone quoted my build at 14-16 weeks, and they were very close...worth the wait!!
