Me and the boys got to see Strung Out Friday in a great local bar - Alex's. 180 max occupants, cheap drinks and great sound. The place really is a perfect venue for a punk show, but lots of HUGE bands have done secret shows here.
They are punk but the guitar tones are pure metal. Both guys play ESP's and I believe they are endorsed. Both are monster players. This post isn't meant to say anything negative, but on stage there was a Kemper and a Stealth. The Kemper destroyed the Stealth IMO. Both guitar tones were very similar and that is the only reason I'm even comparing them. The Kemper was thicker, heavier and way more musical than the tubes. If I would't have seen the rigs, I would have guessed the Stealth to be the SS and the Kemper to be the Amp.
FWIW, The guy In Riverboat Gamblers played a LP into a Stock looking 800 and sounded better than either of the above to my ear.
Just an observation, carry on.
