Hey all, I'm looking for a stereo chorus pedal. I have tried a few and while they all sounded really good, they all seem to have a lot of white noise to them. Ibanez CS-9, Red Witch, EH Stereo Mistress, original MXR, etc.
I have yet to find a quiet one. Any suggestions? Will it require spending some big bucks to avoid the white noise??

Thanks!

I have a mint Digitech CF-7 Chorus factory that sounds FANTASTIC and Ill ship it to you for 70 bucks... Hands down, the best chorus that I have ever come across for the money..

Modfactor on the way, I'll give you a feedback when it arrives. The MXR Mini Chorus I was lended was quite nice... but it isn't midi :D

Using in loop or in front? Makes a difference. Use mine in loop, Have Retrosonic which is super lush and warm but rolls off top end too (just like the opriginal Roland unit its based on). My Red Witch isnt quite as lush but doesnt color the tone as much so to me is top choice.

Best bang for the buck, IMHO is the MXR M-234 chorus. I run mine in front of the amp (in loop sounds too hi-fi for my tastes). Great pedal, about $100.

Boss CE-5.
Dead quiet. Front of amp.
I prefer this pedal because its the best I've had that works with gain as well as cleans. I've had expensive chorus pedals that were too lush and took over the tone. The CE-5 is subtle.
Great pedal used moderately.

Providence Anadime chorus. Smokes just about everything but it's spendy $349.
Other wise Boss CE-2 is very similar to the Providence and can be cheaper but you have to buy them used.
If you want a cheaper, quite (no white noise), flexible chorus go with TC's Corona.

+1 - I love my CE-5 for this very reason.

ModFactor? Welcome to Eventide nirvana man... Totally over-the-top stomp, awesome sounds, and waaaaaaaaaaay more than just a 'chorus' or 'flange' or the like. Totally killer stomps.

I'm a mega Eventide fanboi :D

I'm already in the family with the Timefactor. ESP, Diezel, Eventide... quite similar tastes :D

The Digitech Kage suggested is awesome, especially for the $. I have a Boss CE20 that sounds great also, and can be set to line level so it will work noise-free in a fx loop. Another nice chorus I have is a Fulltone Choralflange... very sweet. Also have a BYOC I built that sounds pretty good also, but I'd give the CE20 an edge if you go into a loop. Most chorus pedals aren't line level and can't take be put in the loop without affecting your tone badly.

I've had the Retrosonic, TC Corona, CE5, Digitech Chorus Factory, Eventide Modfactor, Damage Control Glass Nexus, in the past few years. I feel confident saying that my old Boss CE-2 MIJ sounds better than any of them. The only problem is it's mono so no good in a stereo setup.

The Digitech was fine, the TC Corona was ok I thought. I hated everything about the Eventide Modfactor, the Retrosonic was nice but I found that I didn't use the vibrato side much. They don't make the Glass Nexus anymore but there's the Strymon Ola, but I'm not sure I want to drop $300 for a chorus pedal.

Good taste, m'man.

Just as an FYI, I ended up selling my minty ModFactor, and the reason for this was that - believe it or not - the PitchFactor did everything I needed from the ModFactor, and more. So reverbs, chorus, flange, etc - totally done with the PF.

Just sayin'.

Analogman Bi Chorus is my personal favorite. I have an old boss ce 2 mij but i like the analogman chorus the best.

My 3 top fav's:

- Retro-sonic Analogue Stereo Chorus
- Fromel Electronics Seraph Chorus
- Redwitch Empress Chorus

Can't go wrong with any of these, more a matter of preference
