Suhr Aldrich, Les Paul?

And you do get some killer tones as well! Been looking for a hot pickup with some bite and punch.

Yep, I have an Aldrich at the bridge in my Les Paul Axcess. Its great, vast improvement over the stock pickup.

I always use Duncan Distortions. I thought about using the Aldrich or perhaps an Afwayu. Is the Aldrich as hot as a Distortion?

I googled DD vs Aldrich and DD seems to be a little more raw (maybe thinner) sounding from the comments. Also watched a few videos of Doug Aldrich playing in a small room (no band) and he gets some great tones...punchy and crisp.

I do. This was my Bogner Rev 2. At the time this LP (not shown) was loaded with Aldrich's. Hope it doesn't ruin it for you guys !!!

Still Running an Aldrich set in my '03 Les Paul Standard LE. Very nice pickups, love the clarity. I was running mine with push pulls for coil split, but have since changed that to series parallel. They split very well and I slightly prefer that to parallel, but I like that parallel keeps the noise down, so I am going with that. Its nice to be able to tame them down a bit and then push in the pot to really rock out.

Clips are futile unless you have before and after with the two pickups on the exact same settings, mic position, etc. The Aldrich works wonderfully with the Les Paul as does the Bareknuckle Rebel Yells. I am happy with both sets.

I ended up buying the Aldrich pickups and got them installed (in my 2013 Traditional LP) last week, with new 500k CTS pots and .22 Orange Drops. First impression when plugging in is a lot of upper-midrange (on the bridge) which takes some getting used to. The bridge sounds and feels like a really hot PAF style p/u. Has a nice tight low end and cut, but the upper midrange concerns me....it's almost like you have your amp mids at 3 o'clock. Neck pickup is great and splits well for some strat tones. Nice pickups, but I'm a little concerned about the upper midrange on the bridge.

Maybe I need to try different caps other than Orange Drops....or wire it 50's style?

Have you tried tweaking the height and pole pieces? I don't hear the extended upper midrange, but every guitar is different.
