I ended up buying the Aldrich pickups and got them installed (in my 2013 Traditional LP) last week, with new 500k CTS pots and .22 Orange Drops. First impression when plugging in is a lot of upper-midrange (on the bridge) which takes some getting used to. The bridge sounds and feels like a really hot PAF style p/u. Has a nice tight low end and cut, but the upper midrange concerns me....it's almost like you have your amp mids at 3 o'clock. Neck pickup is great and splits well for some strat tones. Nice pickups, but I'm a little concerned about the upper midrange on the bridge.

Maybe I need to try different caps other than Orange Drops....or wire it 50's style?

Have you tried tweaking the height and pole pieces? I don't hear the extended upper midrange, but every guitar is different.

I haven't tweaked the screws yet but i did adjust the pickup height down slightly and did help. It's very sensitive to height/distance from strings! I really want to like these pickups....maybe its just too hot and too high output?!

I'm still thinking that a different cap (other than the Orange drops that I have now) may help as well.

They are very high output. I have 3 LP's one with the Aldrich another with the BKP Mules and the last one with throbak.
The mules are very nice for hard rock and 80's tone, they are not high output. A little hotter than a PAF replica. around 8.5k.
I like them much more than the Aldrich. They are great pickups, try them if you can.
I owned the BKP Rebel Yell but did not like them.

I have three Les Pauls as well.... I've been digging the Aldrich's (Un-covered). Definitely has a tighter low end and high output, but more of a real hot PAF sound to me. I wish it had a tad less midrange, but it has a nice high end bite on both neck and bridge. My older Standard has a 498T which sounds pretty good too but not as "full" sounding or as punchy as the Aldrich.

....just ordered a second pair with Nickel Covers.

Mang, if you like the Aldrich but want something a tad smoother but still has punch, try the Motor City Hot Heads. I loved the Aldrich pick ups but wanted something with a little less "hair" on the upper mids.......the Hot Heads are the deal...got em in both my R0 and Lifeson Axcess.

I haven't tried Aldridges but my fav pickup in a LP that I found thus far are Duncan Antiquities. I only have 3 LP's..antiquities in a R7, DiMarzio 36th anniversaries in a Trad+ and Duncan Custom in bridge of a BB7 LPC, neck and middle stock BB's.

For me lower to mid output pickups seem to work better in LP's
