An iPhone clip my friend shot at my bands gig last weekend. Hot channel, 70's mode gain at 3 o'clock. Middle pick up only. ML single coil. Who knew this set up could get that "jangley?"

That sounds great! Do you always use just the middle pickup?
Nice twang to it.

Thanks man! Yeah. Just the single. Rolled the volume at times and realized I had a reverb pedal on at one point.  But that's it. I've always loved my suhrs. Never been a Boger guy either. But the more I play the Helios the more I like it.

Sounds good. What Modern is that?

Guthrie spec with reverse headstock and a flush mounted Floyd. I love the 16" radius.

I miss my white Suhr  But I see from your pic it has lots of friends to play with.

Thats a great looking Suhr

What Duncan bridge pickup are you using and which Suhr pickup did you start with?

Everyones going to think I'm crazy but its my go to pickup. SD Pearly Gates. To my half deaf ears it sounds good in everything. I think I've tried every pickup known to man and I always seem to go back to it. It had a SH+ from the factory in it. (it lives in the compartment of the case now.) Neck is SSV and the ML singles are the best singles I've ever heard. They seem to do everything well.

I wouldn't have guessed that pickup, you right. Can you describe the difference between the two besides the lower output?

Is that a top mount Floyd?
I thought suhr would only recess them.
Nice.

Yes it is. This man loves his non recessed trems. My white Modern I got from his is top mounted too.

He also loves his HSH, d tuna, blower switch, reverse headstock configuration!

I like a midrangey pickup especially in a big hunk of mahogany and a maple top. It's a very clear pickup that can get too bright if you're not careful with it. It allows me to work the amp harder too because of the low output. And I like the way it "feels". Most higher output pickups sound muddy and a bit dark to me. I've tried a ton of them. Tone is so subjective, we all know that. But to my ringing ears and my fingers the PG is always pretty good no matter what guitar. I'm sure I'm in the minority around here.

I don't think they produce them that way but if you have one built they will do whatever you want. I have another with a top mounted Floyd that I'm about to put up for sale. I'm thinking about ordering another with the flat 16" board.

Does the Floyd actually sit perfectly flat on the body? I feel stupid asking but does the Floyd dent the finish/body over time from the bridge returning to pitch?

Damn straight!!!

Stop reminding I let that one get away.

Next one...if there is a next one will be white again! white gits are my favorite.

I have beat the shit out of this one and there's no marks that I can see. And if there is, it would be under the bridge where they can't be seen anyway.
