I can't wait to try this thing out :). It's gonna hurt having to give it back, I'm sure.

as far as simple boosts go, I think the trick is keeping it minimal. All this BS about 200 boost pedals. My amps do all that dont need a pedal at all. The guys at my church are pedal guys so I did this for that really.

I think in most cases you are going to see a single gain stage and that keeps the complexity down. If you're using a linear opamp you need a little more infrastructure but if you're going bipolar or FET or Germanium there just isn't much necessary to get the thing up and running. It all just depends on what you're doing with it. If you want added punch and clarity, you can go opamp or FET depending on required output and headroom. If you're boosting a dirty amp and you want a narrower band of freqencies in the boost as well as some grit, germanium is a better bet.

Basically, I can see the need for multiples but the overwhelming majority of boosts on the market are differently hyped variations of the Orman Mosfet booster or the ZVex SHO.

I love the look of those funky chickenheads BTW. I dont think they're available in the States?

I love that you used a white led too. I'm soooo sick of red led's on everything!!! They should be outlawed. :gethim:

no its super bright purple, blindingly bright purple. its super cool. Everyone knows purple is better for tone.

Do you have a gutshot?

PTP?

4 resistors and 2 caps.. what else would it be.. yeah its hand made by me my brotha.
its a mixture of some old forgotten stuff that still kicks ass.

So I got this pedal from Jerry and I am so excited about it. I wanted a well rounded booster that could do a clean boost all the way up to a litttle OD that would make my gainy amp sustain a little bit. I threw it in front of my overdrive Splawn QR and it gave it a subtle clean that I wanted to help sustain the amp and give little boost. Around 11:00 it does exactly that. Turn it up to around 1-2:00 and it gave me a slight overdrive with a hint of treble boost. Then I turn it up all the way and it has this overdrive/Big Muff type violin sustain thing which is very unique and really fun to play around with. It is very transparent and doesn't change my amp's existing mojo. Just a simple function cool pedal! And it sounded excellent in front of Jerry's Surreal CM 50 on the Vox style channel!

So in conclusion for the money ($65 shipped) this is a no brainer pedal that has made it's way permanently on my pedal board!

Sweet! Got one coming my way too. Hopefully I can afford to keep it but if not, it'll be fun testing it out! Damn school and debt has me tied up pretty tight right now. :(

Count me in on the pass around. For that price ill buy one anyway
Ditto!
Dibs after droptrd!! :D
Lets back off on this pass-around idea. I started the idea, Jerry never said it was happening. I mean not to put words in Jerry's mouth, or make commitments to people for him. I just asked if I could have one, and mentioned a pass-around because I felt bad taking one without paying for it

If he's on board, I'm in. I just don't want to be starting things without his consent
