Hey guys, I just checked the mail and "More" #3 was waiting for me outside! Had to let it warm up, (damn u.p. weather, it's like 0 fucking degrees here) and my kid's in bed so I only played through my little combo with headphones, but I can say already that this thing is awesome!

Tonally, it fits into my collection really well because it has a very unique sound. Like others have said, it can be used as a boost to give your gain a little "more" ( :student: ) but for me it really shines as a maxed out fuzz! I have tons of smooth drive pedals and a good clean boost already, and my Russian Muff has the fat, smooth compressed fuzz thing down. The More gets nasty!!!
I mean, we're talking insane broken up bliss for leads! Play some complex chords with the gain maxed and it gets gnarly as hell and just sounds disastrous, but awesome at the same time! (if that makes any sense   ) I have yet to explore the mid-gain capabilities, but with the gain maxed it's not a smooth sounding pedal. But that's exactly what I wanted since I have so many polite sounding boxes already. But it plays smooth with verb and/or delay after it. Like a maxed out Fuzz Face, but with its own thing happening.

I'll try to fire up the camera tomorrow and do a demo. I wanted to mic up and do it properly, but my interface has been getting this weird jittery distorted sound whenever I use it. I'm in the process of trying to figure that out...anyway, I think I'm gonna end up keeping this one. I still have to play it through my 'real' rig but I love it so far. Now I gotta sell some college books to fund it.

Ah man, I am so broke right now. All my money is on hold to buy Zachman's Agile Ghost. This thing sounds awesome from you're description glassjaw. Just what I would want. I almost hope I don't like it so I don't have to steal money from someone to buy it

You're buying the ghost? Nice! I know you've wanted one of those forever. This pedal is cool, but I'm sure Jerry could always build you one down the road if you can't grab one right now. Shit, it sounds pathetic with some of the high dollar stuff that goes down around here, but I'm not even sure I can afford this one. Might have to send it back. It sucks making less than a third of what I used to make yearly. But I have a healthy daughter so I guess I shouldn't complain. It could be worse.

Yeah man, after 4 years of bugging him about selling it to me, he's finally given it up  And of course, 2 days before he called me about selling it, I gave a grand, every dollar I had, to my parents. I've made up about $300 in the couple weeks from people who owe me money, but still. Zach wants $450 for it. He's giving me a few weeks to get the money together. I can do it no problem, but I'm going to be flat broke when it's all said and done. I should have told my parents to go fuck themselves, but I just couldn't do it. We don't and have never gotten along, and I have a bit of an abusive relationship with them. Despite it, I couldn't just not help them. But I really wish I hadn't.

Just how it goes I guess.

very cool. its such a simple circuit you know .. the best stuff was like invented decades ago. its a strato blaster/ rangemaster / slithg fuzz face hybrid. its subtle when you want it to be and slightly violin like when you want that. The violin thing sounds great with a strat neck p u .

Anyone want to sell their place in line? :D Just kidding. Jerry's a good guy.

  I was hoping you would get a little laugh. Congrats on the pedal/s. Not sure what happened to me but I stopped using effects. I should start again. I always boosted my amps and they didn't sound right without a boost. I recently reprogrammed myself and stopped boosting. Now I just turn the gain up.

yeah if you listen closely to most effects they wreck your bandwidth. Not sure if thats the right word but you can hear that highs and lows are lost. The natural highs and lows. Then they try to reconstruct them and it never works out so I like to go straight into the amp too.

this little circuit doesnt trash the natural bandwidth in fact there is no unity gain the minimal setting still is a slith bass and treble boost. It would also be great as a buffer for long effects chains. Its a cheap way to get the job done right. its a pure little circuit . if yo know what your doing you can even play around with the bypass cap on the JFETS cathode. (its called something else in JFET land but its the same as a cathode, sort of ) its got a 10uf there so if you wanted less bass drop it. if you want it spicier, run a .68 there etc etc .

I noticed that today playing it with my other pedals. Most of my od's squeeze the tone and I lose some highs and lows; (that typical tube screamer thing going on), but with your circuit my tone remains pretty much the same.

I had completely different results playing through my Boogie today than I did last night with my little SS Fender combo. There's not quite as much gain on tap as I first thought, and this thing sounds phenomenal in its entire gain range! It's super clean when set low. Adds a nice full effect on my clean tone. Like a good clean boost with no tone-suck or altering of the original signal.

I discovered a cool combination in running the More into my Lovepedal Eternity. In this combo with the More's gain maxed and the Eternity set as a slight od, I got crazy metallic, broken up fuzz tones similar to what some of the Devi Ever fuzzes and the ZVEX Fuzz Factory can do. Then I ran it with the gain backed down to 3:00 into a Tube Screamer and it was Gilmour heaven! Really cool pedal.
Jerry, would it be possible to add a gain stage so I could get a similar effect to what I did combining the More and the Eternity? I'd like it if I could get that gnarly of a tone with just your pedal.

I could experiment with cascading one into the other or maybe combining a mild overdrive like the DOD 250 thing in there? I have some 741's around the old ones.
