Synergy Amps

I loved the Egnater/Randall modular concept. Some of the modded modules sounded incredible. If it wasn't so expensive, I would get a 4 space modular preamp for these new ones.

I hope they make a power amp that is switchable between tube types. I've always wanted a 2 channel power amp, with different tube types in either side along with independent EQ and volume controls. MIDI footswitchable preferably. That would be a perfect power amp solution for Axe-FX/Kemper guys, as well as the module users. With something like this, you could switch between different sounds on your digital modelling system (or Synergy stuff) and match the proper tube type.

Maybe I shouldn't give my ideas away for free on RT....:)

Randall made this exact poweramp called the RT2/50. You can find them used occassionally.

Sounds good. But other then the custom modules what is the difference between the randall/Egnater MTS amps and this?

Yeah, but you can't use anything other than 6L6s and EL34s in those, can you? I'd want even more tube options with a simple bias control. Get some KT66/88s in there, all sorts of stuff...and a new run, as these are hard to track down.

Is there still no release date for the Synergy stuff? Been waiting a long time now.

It was completely redesigned to improve on the previous designs. Steven Fryette was the head engineer. Built in effects loop. The SNY1 and SNY2 have the Dynamic Sensing Technology / SAG that is found on some of the Fryette amps. This allows you to control the feel. They also have the loops built in so you can switch between any amp with a effects loop between the preamp in your amp and the Snyergy modules. Many of the moduals have two voices and you can switch between them. There is outputs with bypass of speaker emulation.

Sounds cool. I always have a soft spot in my heart for the MTS amps (owned 5 of them over the years   )
But there was always something 'lacking' in them. :aww:
Seems like this new redesign might be something checking in to. ;)

I am completely into it. They took years to make sure everything is right. I want the SNY2 for my rack. They also got a lot of the right people involved. They asked THD, Bogner and Mesa...., but nothing has been worked out with them yet. Diezel, Soldano, Friedman, Morgan, 65 Amps, Fryette, Supro, Egnator are all already in and are directly involved in design of the modules.

This is the first I've heard of these. Seems super cool. I would totally want the single unit to turn my single channel amp into three if it actually works well.

.

I remember having the SLX and the EG3-4 from Egnater and they held their own EASILY.

Had Dave Friedman mod a couple custom modules and had a blast with the old MTS system.
This new one seems such a step up. Such a great idea overall. Hope it blossoms.

Friedman is very involved in the entire project. They do not have a website up yet...... But there is information on their Facebook page. All the modules old and new are going to work in all the units if I understand correct.

So cool to finally see the ideas I had while at Egnater over 5 years ago come to pass!
Awesome!

There is also a 50 and 25 watt heads that take two modules each. A one space stereo poweramp with 4-6L6 designed by Fryette. The tube you see in both units I posted above I believe is part of the SAG.

I remember when you and I were talking about this very thing at my place the one time.
