Tae away the singer, which band would you listen to?

I've tried I really have but bands like:

King Diamond
Mercyful Fate
Helloween

Throw them in that bucket of stuff where my mind gets fatigued when I try to listen to entire song let alone an entire album. That high pitched 'signing'

Dream Theater, God Forbid, and Nevermore.

DT and God Forbid have one song each that I can actually fully enjoy (Pull Me Under, The Antihero) but fucking Nevermore is unlistenable across the entirety of their expansive catalogue.
Byron is the man.

I should have been more clear. While I do enjoy Byron's vocals, the backup vocals on their final albums just turned me off completely. So if it's a choice between no vocals or with vocals which include the backup vocals, I'll go for no vocals.

Children of Bodom

Pet Shop Boys

...just to name some where the music is being crippled by annoying vocals.

I seem to have a penchant for 'air raid siren' vocals, whether it's Maiden, Toxik, Agent Steel, Mercyful Fate or Priest.

I actually saw them in concert. They played on the military base when I was stationed in Japan.
Those 2 put on a helluva show. :D

To each his own, but IMO, Randy is essential to Lamb of God.

Agreed

Used to hate Randy's vocals when I heard LOG played on liquid metal back in the day, but after listening to them a while his vocals grew on me. Now I own a bunch of their older albums and love his screaming

DREAM THEATER!!!!

This.

Anything after "Awake" is hard for me to stomach.

My personal tipping point was "Black Clouds and Silver Linings". I also never got into "Systematic Chaos" and i liked 1 song on "A Dramatic Turn of Events".

Cool thread.

Arch Enemy for me. FANTASTIC guitars. Bad singing.

I love AE. And i tend to consider death metal vocals as another instrument, rather than singing.

I do not listen to music that I don't like the singer generally.
A good singer is essential to my listening enjoyment.

It's really why I don't care for much modern music. I don't like the current, modern singing style. Particularly popular rock music. Horrible.

I can't really answer other than any band that has cookie monster vocals. I know I miss out on some pretty good guitar work as I'm out as soon as I hear that vocal style/
