Talk to me about ESP E-II axes. Yeaaa or nayyyy

I'm a big fan. I've had a lot of ESPs. The E-IIs are great. I'd prefer a new one to an older Standard Series.

Current Original Series are just otherworldly in terms of fit and finish, but the E-IIs will play great and look ok for the price point.

EII's play just as well as the older standard series, only difference is what is on the headstock. Just wish mine had stainless steel frets.

E-II is 100% GTG.

They are slightly better than the excellent Std series from the 2010s, although the current E-IIs may have fuller neck profiles. So if you want the old school shredder neck, you may like the Stds better.

Recent E-IIs are starting to come with SS frets, which is YUGE! I'm all-in for steel.

I have one and like it a lot. The quality is right up there with some of the other guitars I own.

I used to have a standard FR27, but this feels so much better under the fingers. Better fretwork, nice neck, excellent fit and finish, and no neck dive.

I don't mind the E-II on the headstock, FWIW. This one is kind of like a symmetrical King V, with that Arrow curve at the bottom.

The rootbeer shitburst E-II I had previously had one of the best necks I've ever played, great fretwork too. It was really comfortable to play and the fit and finish was amazing. That guitar was just something special, but I just don't do brown guitars unless they're acoustic.

I have not played a recent E-ll but recently picked up a Korean LTD that is killer. Just wish there were more offerings from ESP with a 43mm nut.

Yeaaa, but I can't do the 12th fret underwear label. It's just so... disappointing.

I can concur that the Korean LTDs, especially the 1000 series ones, are killer. Used to own a Jeff Hanneman signature Eclipse that was amazing.

Same here. I dislike it even on the Standard or other models. Cool thing about the above-mentioned Hanneman was that it didn't have the model number at the 12th fret. Same goes for the ESP RZK-II that replaced it. I passed on an E-II Camo Horizon specifically because of that 12th fret thing. It's really silly, I think, completely ruins the look of the guitar.
