Yeah I got this amp for a great price so figured “everyone needs a 5150 variant, so why not”

And it’s just ridiculous and not in a good way. I’m gonna test the 5751 in V1 tonight and see what’s what. It kinda blows my mind how much people seem to love this amp.
That is how i felt with it. I didnt play red channel. Blue channel was best, and the green was super clean until you dimed it.
I tried so many times on the red because i felt like i was supposed to. But i ended up moving on

The funny thing is that here are Ed's actual settings.

If you got it cheap, the blue channel is worth the price of admission. I loved it on the 50 watt Stealth. I put some, (now discontinued Shuguang, PSvane might be making them now), TAD RCA Blackplate 6L6's in mine and a couple GE JAN NOS 5751's in V3 & V4 and i thought the amp killed. The red has more low mids less fizz than the regular 6L6 50. But I don't find ANY EVH to have the harmonic richness I need for lead playing. They just have an almost sterile/Solid State sound. They're not lively and rich in harmonics.
