Tc booster + distortion pedal similar to Tc Integrated Pream

I can score one of those booster+ distortion pedals for a really good price, and im wondering if i should bite the bullet
has anyone compared the two units and if so what were your thoughts? whenever im lucky enough to see an integrated pre go for sale, its all beat up and going for like 350 bucks, so im probably not going to end up with one of those
however this one seems to have the same bass, treble and level controls, but with some extra features, so if i leave the extra features flat and put it in boost mode, i would hope it would sound similar...right?

They are extremely similar in tone. the difference as far as I can tell is overall DB boost levels and tone controls. The TC Booster+ can go +6db overall boost and then treble and bass go up and down 16db.

Personally I would never ever give my TC Booster+/line driver up. It is by far the best OD tool i ever tried. I paid 375 for mine about 5 years ago. Worth every penny. If it dies or something happens, I would have to get another.

As far as overall tone. I think the booster has more variable tone shaping options. The integrated preamp is useful for that ultra metal djenty tone. The booster can hit that tone too but not quite as pronounced.

Then quite simply, you want the integrated preamp. The Booster might not get you far enough to the tone you want.

I completely agree with you but you can use that Integrate Preamp into nearly any tube amp and have insane djenting tone. I actually wonder if I can get that kind of tone out of my JMP Voodoo Amps Marshall. L et me see.

Eh, sorry to post a lot but I missed this somehow, answer is no. I have never heard anything that does what the Integrated Preamp does. Or the Booster+ for that matter.

I think the pedal's level says 6 at the highest setting, but I don't think it means db. I'm fairly sure its considerably more like 15 db boost, possibly 30 db. I've seen an article on it in an old Guitar player mag. I know mine is loud as hell.
