Technical Question for Dave

What is the current like in an effects loop? Not just impedance, but the other stuff, too.

I guess it would make more sense if I explain the reason I'm asking. I would like to build a custom pedal that simply had a Clarostat 25k pot in it to be put inserted in the loop and be handy to me for volume tweaks. I don't want to use a volume pedal pedal for size reasons (this is to go in my grab-&-go rig). Would this work? That way I can set the individual channel masters where I want and not have to fiddle with rebalancing them if I get asked to turn down or up.
