Yeah, I have had a few Roots and a few various T7s, that pickup placement kills me though! Keep th ideas coming guys! Some cool ones!

Anyone tried a wirebird?

My favorite Tele builder is,,,, wait for it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Fender   All joking aside, play one with the wide range pickups thru a higher gain amp,, those are def smoking for that, yes even a Thinline,, smoking!

Yes I put thicker strings on my Baja Tele and tuned down to D standard and high gain amp. Sounds real good with the heehaw single coil pickups.

Schecter PT Standard. I just replaced the pups with a Duncan Custom and AP2 in the neck. It's a monster. Great neck, but I replaced that with a Warmoth.

LOVE mine!

I want this.

Carvin TL60. done! Great guitars, and very affordable. I have mine set up with single coils as I have humbucker tones covered many times over.

I think the Carvin SC90 might be better for teh heavy though no?

They are very similar. It would come down to pickups, which are the one think about Carvin's that I'm not crazy about. A good set of MCP's, in either and you'd be set.

I have tried the single Coils, but I am more of a humbucker guy. I am planning on a VHII/Coldsweat set eventually. I really just like the tele shape, the nostalgia isn't really a thing for me I am afraid. Traditions = eh. :D

Sounds like you should just choose a killer looking tele and drop your fav heavy humbuckers in.

If I were doing a scooped sound, humbuckers for sure. But, heavy doesn't have to be scooped, that's just me :dunno:

This one looks awesome!

If you can find an old MIJ Fender Contemporary tele, they will do what you want. As much as I like my tele, I am gasing for a SS or a HS tele. The bridge single coil on the tele is a cool sound. Most don't love the neck single coil on a tele.

A tele or a tele-style guitar with humbuckers smoke!!! You could go with used USA Charvel Tele-Style guitar, Fender, Tom Anderson and Carvin to name a few.

G&L ASAT too!!

yup - disco metal

Wirebird! I want one, but no one I know has tried one, the only people that I have spoken with about them are endorsers, and with the exchange rate, uber-pricey. But that is what inspired my tele GAS!

I like a tele with a single at the bridge and 59 hum bucker at the neck.

But a standard tele s/s rocks also

You can get pretty much anything you want here.

I have them doing a double bound hot rod Esquire for me now.

Thanks for the plug.

Yup, tele for heavy stuff, no problem. Hot rodded teles are what I used to play before I got super strat obsessed which then lead to me to design my "JD" body shape that marries a tele, strat and jazmmaster into a whole lot of awesome for the best of all worlds.
