TGP is talking unironically about Billie Eilish

My fiancee actually was into Eilish before she was famous, like a year or two before "Bad Guy" came out. Her stuff is honestly pretty good, and yeah, definitely not auto-tuned. There's honestly quite a bit going on vocally in her songs if you care to listen. Not so much in vocal theatrics but there's a lot of creative harmony layers going on. I'm not a big fan of modern pop (not to say I'm not a pop fan at all, in fact I think my music tastes would get my ass kicked if I were around in the 80s), but Eilish is an exception. Her stuff is always a breath of fresh air on Top 40 radio.

fat, old and bald dudes still clinging to 80s hair metal tunes... awesome.

anything new.... this is terrible.

Na, there are still quite a few Djent fans here, we should have them banned asap tbh.

This, i'd take the hair metal clingers over Djent fans and TGP hipsters any day.

Hey! It's a shaved head, big difference!

Just ignore her and go on fellating Lynch or whatever now irrelevant has-been is your flavor. I've only heard that Bad Guy song, it's okay, but she is definitely an artist worth talking about as the industry continues to shift away from big money. Old dudes complaining about new music is always such an eye-rolling topic. It's clearly not music created for you, so move on. You best believe there are people far more involved and informed than you talking unironically about Billie Eilish.

Well at least i don't get this mad if someone talks shit about my favorite artists. You can go meltdown now somewhere else.

I've got to play all this back:

A teen pop star who looks like a teen pop star and appeals to teens is bothering some older men.

Some older gentlemen are being accused of liking the music of their youth and not liking this, and being rude about it. They may also have weight and hairline issues. The accusers also take this opportunity to take a swipe at famous artists/bands from the 80's.

Other older gentlemen are more purist in their arguments, and simply know what is quality music and have laid down a serious judgement on the teen pop star.

I don't know...my daughter likes Billie Eilish so that makes me happy. I still like all my old 80's music, Dokken, Metallica, etc. So that makes me happy too.

I don't feel angry...would wearing tan pants change that? Probably...I hate the look.

Expect people listening to shitty music will result even more shitty music being made and all the good stuff not getting the airplay it deserves. I know that this is a rant and world's not a fair place, but just saying that "move on" and not admitting that music is mostly shit nowadays sounds kinda defeatist to me.

Boomers just being boomers. Are we not entertained yet?

I don't like her vibe/fashion and general cranky "whatever" poor me teenage against. But musically she's brilliant. Watch the Carpool karaoke no auto tune here.
She recorded all of her music in a bedroom with her brother. No studio, no producers, no engineers. Just a small bedroom with some reg. home recording gear. I tip my hat to her craft. And poor one out for all the haters.

Complaining that music is shit nowadays is defeatist.

For all we know you make shit music, so that makes it extra specially defeatist.

Quit bellyaching and make some "good" music.

It's not complaining, it's an observation of an undisputable fact that you seem to be butthurt about. And how can you know if i make shitty music if i haven't even released everything? For all we know you probably listen to lil pump and 6ix9ine as well.

Sounds like ingredients of a shitty recording to me. And labeling me a boomer when i'm 26, delightful.

And yeah you can really tell from a carpool karaoke if someone can sing or not. :DDDDDDDD
