I don't say much when people start bitching because its what people like to do but...I find it amusing that you can give people something they enjoy everyday for free and still some people will complain about it.![]()
You want it to be like the "old days" but guess what the guys who ran it in the old days got tired of everyones bullshit drama and complaining and sold it off because they were sick of babysitting some of the "personalities" that walk through a open door.
Bottom line is I try to be cool and accommodating to everyone here but if you don't dig it please ride on, we will be ok if you do.

Nobody here likes to be challenged and I've seen some members who are posting on this very thread go apeshit when someone questioned their self perceived greatness.
Don't believe me? I have no beef with these people, but try criticizing Rlord's packaging or try telling Steve Henning that you don't think his amp is the shit or that his amp journey is nothing special, hundreds of people have done what he's done. These are just observations I've made. The only difference between sickwindsor and these other guys is that sickwindsor had no friends in this particular schoolyard (rig-talk) who were willing to back him up. See, when you criticise the popular kids, you're a hater, not so with guys like sickwindsor.
I dont know how long youve been here; your post count is low but you could have lurked for years. Either way, Your assessment is WAY off IMHO. Seriously, If the only difference that you see is sickwindsors lack of friends, I dont know what to tell you.. In addition, I dont see a whole lot of self perceived greatness beyond sickwindsor...

I just re-read that link and I don't know how you can say I "trashed" Craig at all. I actually opened my comments by saying I thought his amps looked great and where could I find clips and more info! The only point I had an issue with was the idea of using customers' deposits as financing for his company. Craig ("CECamps") specifically wrote:DarrenX":2svkg26a said:Overall this is a pretty good forum, you're right about that, but, some of the nuthugging I've seen is way out of control......The thread that really illustrates my point is viewtopic.php?f=3&t=115359&start=50
Check out the tag team featuring henning and rlord. Trashing the CEC amps guy over semantics and some stupid technicality.
I could care less about the semantics of whether a deposit represents 'revenue' or a 'liability' on your financial statements. The bottom line is, customer deposits should NEVER be used to purchase new equipment or be relied upon to finance ongoing customer service requirements. Those two items should be financed by owner capital contributions, sale of shares, issuance of debt or the cumulative and retained profits of the business (i.e., the expected cost of servicing Customer X's amp over the life of the warranty period should be built into the pricing model of the amp sold to Customer X). Largely, I am fine if my deposit is being used to purchase the parts that will ultimately form the components of my amplifier, as well as covering the labour associated with building it. But I am not fine with the idea of my deposit being used to allow a builder to purchase CAD software or to cover the costs of servicing some previous customer's amplifier. I stand by this position.CECamps":2svkg26a said:Taking a deposit can in the long run be considered part of a very smart business model in that the deposit serves as revenue that can keep the company going!.....Revenue keeps the doors open, keeps you able to provide warranty support to older customers if the need shall arise (knock on wood I haven't had to yet), keeps you able to invest more in the business (like tools & equipment to be more productive), etc.
I'm not going to wade into your thoughts on Steve and what he had posted in that thread, as he is a big boy and he can choose to reply to your attack if or when he chooses to.DarrenX":2svkg26a said:And henning blasting the practice of taking money up front while kissing Brad's ass really, really hard. It's okay though, Brad's a good guy, he can take money up front and take years to deliver but CEC amps is a douchebag. Hennings model is the best though, build 'em and sell 'em. How unique, wonder why nobody does that. Maybe because it doesn't work for larger volumes douche. Your amazing amp journey is anything but. Let's see, you hired someone to design the board, another place makes the board, another place makes your chassis and yet another makes your headshells. What a talented man. You also copied the shit out of Diezel with your "board design". You haven't sold one amp but you know it all.
Interesting. So, for years, you have been lurking here and enjoying the forum, to the point that you finally decide to formally become a member. Then, your first course of action is to start slagging the long-time forum members that actually made this the forum that it was for all of the years you have been lurking? That makes a lot of sense.DarrenX":2svkg26a said:Yup, lurked for years before joining.
