Not his biggest fan but I gotta give credit where credit is do... He played great and sounded great. I was suprised to see he was using a Marshall TSL100. For all the shit that amp caught on these forums I think it sounded great. The man can play!!

Didnt see that episode yet. Loved Tesla back in the day.
One of the best concerts I have seen was the David Lee Roth Eat em and smile tour with Tesla opening.
I had a TSL....it was ok. ;)

He was playing through JCM900s the last time I saw him. He makes everything sound good.

Yeah, he sounded great. His "Love Song" solo is one of my favorite ever.

That's his usual amp...modded 900 cranked loud as fuck. :rock:I always loved Frank's style. He never seems to over play.

Yeah I was rocking thru a modded SLX 900 for a few months and it was ripping.

I saw that episode too and was really impressed. He had a fairly dry (completly dry?) set up and was just going for it with a lot of agression and theatrics. Very entertaining. I also agree it was one of the better guest spots I've seen, especially compared to Warren DeMartini and Chris Broderick.

The other guitarist got REALLY ANNOYING after a few songs. Got really tired of his stone faced gaze over the crowd...creepy, then annoying. Tries a bit too hard to be "cool" or something...

  I'm right there with you on that. But you've gotta admit, they do sound great live. They stay very true to the original recording.

+1 for Frank.. Love his style and the way he sits in the pocket.. and when it comes down to it, the man can 'fukn' play!! That whole era of Franks, Nunos, Dougs, Pauls, Reb's, Andy's, etc.. that's where it's at for me.

Booked Telsa to play in Hot Springs this summer...looking forward to that show for sure. Mechanical Resonance is a favorite. Their music seems to stand up more than not as time passes.

Agreed. That's because it's just good old kickass R&R and not dated.

Modern day cowboy is one of the most fun songs to play and a few others of theirs as well but that ones just fun! Saw them at the casino here last year and it was great...Small place and it was loud..I loved it!!!

Frank is one bad ass guitarist and tends to be overlooked. He is up there in my book especially for good whole hard rock tones!!!!

I only caught the last segment when Frank was playing last night. I was surprised at how aggressive his tone was. Sounded great though. I have always been a fan.

OFF TOPIC ALERT>>>

What is Eddie Trunk's claim to fame? I mean, I know he's got a radio show and a great grasp of the rock/metal scene, but is there more?
