That's it. Peters amps are THE best amps on the planet

Sorry I gave that impression! I was looking to see what the issue was, and couldn't get past "not talking about the guitar more". I'd definitely have offered to modify the amp, even if at the time I was at a loss as to what you wanted done. The resulting modification might've been the FSM, 3 years early. :) I think after I turned you off during the conversation, you sold the amp quickly. I'm going on vague memory at this point though. Anyway thanks for the advice!

Cool, and sorry to clog up this thread with my ranting....James is the type of guy that really wants all of his customers to be 100% happy with what they get from him. Its a blessing and a curse I guess haha.

If I try another Peters it will be the FSM !

It's all constructive ranting so it's all good, entertaining for sure.

If you ever drive up north near the Ottawa region, you are more than welcome to stop in, have a Cold one and try my FSM. I'm sure you'd like this one.

Can't wait to get my funds together and get the Gryphon!!

There's a possibility of a Texas ampfest this year as well; it would probably be in Dallas/Fort Worth. I have a lot to do this year so I'm unsure how much I can travel, but this has come up as a good possibility.

Thanks for the info. I'll be in touch shortly. :D

I would definitely be down for this. Texas is my stomping grounds and I would happily contribute a 100w einstein. There's not much I can imagine that would keep me from being able to participate/contribute.

I love the Chimera/Hydra/Halo that I own. I had a 50 Chimera and a 50 Hydra at one time too. Both were killer but I prefer 100W heads for whatever reason. The 100W Chimera/Hydra/Halo pretty much ended my gas problems. :)

Whoever is wanting to check out the FSM I got one in the classifieds. I am a big fan of his amps favorite being the gryphon. Will get another FSM but with dual overdrive down the road. Just have other hobby interests right now that I need to fund.

I don't know why I never did it before, but I've been jamming with the channel volume on my Hydra and also my GNL up at like 2:00 - 3:00. And it gets super resonant and chewy the higher you put it. More lively. Only downside is above 12:00, and you're gonna clip any pedals that are in the loop.

James is a class act - and delivers. My last one, a Vega/GNL was 5 weeks from conception to delivery. Build quality and cosmetics, his amps just ooze the right stuff. My biggest mistake was not ordering a 3 channel on the last round.

i've always wanted a big black peters. really. many men do.

This NJ ampfest thing happening or did I miss it? I would love to check out a Peters amp in person

Peters amps are ones that I have always wanted to try. James was always very helpful and professional when I emailed and asked him questions. If ever go back to amps I would definitely pick one up

The NJ amp fest thing hasn't happened yet. It's difficult to gauge interest for this kind of thing and it seemed in general it wouldn't pan out, but now there's probably enough interest to make it worthwhile. I plan to visit NJ in a couple months to visit friends and go to Six Flags, so if that general time frame works, I can plan it around then. There's already a place we can use which has plenty of room, good parking right in front of the building, etc. It'd be in the Metuchen area (or very close to it, I forget exactly where the place is). We've used it before years ago for an amp fest.

If this sounds good, let me know (post, PM or email me from my site). I'd like to have a list of people who would definitely attend, if we can plan a date that's agreeable. With an amp fest, it seems lots of people say they'll "go for sure!" etc., but only a small number show up. It's not a big deal if only 10 people are there, in my opinion, but it might not make for an exciting time for others if they can't gauge how many people will be attending. And I'd hope that at least 10 people would want to attend. :) It feels weird when you think 40+ people are showing up, and only 3 people do. That's happened.

I have some orders to complete, and I just moved, so I won't be able to travel for a couple months. But I could plan in advance and get dates nailed down if there's enough interest.

Thanks to Steve, Laura, Mike, Chris, and anyone else I might have missed. :)

I miss the old St.Louis HMJ/Daver/Thump ampfests. Great times.

Hi,
Never heard of Peters Amps until I read this thread. Are they similar to anything else out there? I'm familiar with Budda stuff, and love those, but would like a variation on a theme of grindsome bluesy gain, but enough dirty cleans in the VOXish camp...not looking for stellar sparkling cleans...
thnx
