Really great to see "Angel Dust" showing up frequently...Incredibly influential record that way way ahead of the times.

System of a Down - Toxicity

The lists will slightly change for most in the next thread where this gets brought up again, imo.
Perhaps a few are mainstays for me, but the rest are whatever my mind goes to at that moment.

Yep. And I was going to say something similar. That most of these 'lists' are always evolving. I figured for this I could easily crank out my top 10. But then I did 2 things.

1. Put some thought into it.
2. Made the mistake of looking at the music on my phone.

I have over 250 albums ripped onto my phone because that's how I roll. That's where I had to get really honest with myself and focus on IMPACT and not just my favorite albums. I DO have favorite albums that are not on this list because my favorite music then, over time and today goes way back to when I was a kid. If Country or Jazz had a big impact on my when I was 5 years old, for example, my list would look different. And so would my forum preferences

For example, I prefer VH FW or 1984 over VH 1
There would be no KISS or Beatles in a deserted island top 10 list
Nor Slipknot. But Pantera - Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys probably would.

This thread explains a lot of things 🤣

Top of the list: why you hear a ton of bad or non existent music from most members. (They listen to awful music, like on purpose)

So what's your list my man Dan?

So what's your list my man Dan?

You guys already know my list of stuff like this because i've posted it in the 500 other threads that were similar to this before - it's going to be the same bands and albums I always post.

I'm debating doing a joke list full of godawful MTV and satellite radio bands now, though

1. Von Gaylen III. What's better than normal Von Gaylen? Von Gaylen with the faggot from the "Beautiful Girls" band yardeling over the top! My favorite part is the way the lyrics are all "get it together jerk" in the verses, and "i miss you baby" in the choruses, it's like they were literally written by a fucking 5 year old who forgot they were writing just one song.

2. Kid Rock - Bawitaba. My favorite part is where he says "drink the piss, suck the dick" like they say in every wigger metal band.

3. Five Finger Fruit Punch - Boots and Blood. This song has lyrics that probably appeal to most RT members. Especially @311boogieman and @Smash and @CuckNorris... but it's also about "boots" which i'm sure appeals to @VonBonfire !

4. Rings of Saturn - Inadequate. In my search for the fakest, most quantized, most sped up "tech death" band, I ran across these guys from (surprise surprise) a guitar faking controversy. I'm honestly at a loss that people consider this actual music; at this point just listen to a midi generator.

Alright I'll do more awful shitty RT music later, because RT only can handle 4-5 video links at a time

HERE WE GO HOSS HADDALAYERDOWNNOW SCULL YA HOWS JEEN? NOW THAT'S GOT SOME FEEL AND GROOVE TO IT

Both purgatory afterglow and Temple of Shadows are in my top 25 - although Edge of Sanity is more a masterclass in aesthetics and songwriting than it is guitar mastery, Dan Swanos song structures and lyrics have been a big influence to me as well
