The 2024 Live Rig...

It’s not that I’m not happy with the tones I get from my Kemper. It’s that most sound guys in the Houston area don’t push the guitars through the mains. So if there’s not a 412 on the stage, guitars don’t really get heard. Just drums, bass and vocals. So I’m bringing back the large rig to overcome that issue. If someone tells me that they can’t hear me… I have a knob for that. lol.
That's surprising to hear....you would think that the sound guys would love the direct setup.....I don't remember VICTIM5150(RIP) having any issues being heard through the mains using his AXEFXIII live all the time.

Yeah… Todd was playing stages we haven’t made it to yet. lol. They absolutely deserved those venues though.

We played a really good sized venue earlier this month, and I was surprised at how buried the guitars were in the main mix.

Sounds killer! Great tone. Just played a gig Friday night for the first time using the Captor X and a modded Marshall JCM800. Was using an Ownhammer Mesa IR. Was pretty impressed with the sound you can get going direct FOH with the Captor X.

I was blown away with how good it sounded the first gig I used it at. How easy it was and how consistent my tone was from venue to venue. I gigged with it from 2021 through 2022. Went Kemper in 2023. But I’m looking forward to having a real amp back on stage this year.

For sure....I totally understand why.

Sounds good, my grip about all the EVH amps is you cannot dial out the wash of gain even on the Blue ch. Was that a stealth or?
I'm using my FM3 for many smaller stages and will take my 2203 JMP with a 4 x 12 for outdoor use this year!

Yes, that was the Stealth 100 6L6. The gain on both the blue and red channels was set at noon. I find that set any lower and both channels start to lose their balls. Anything pass 1:00 on the red channel is useless, IMHO. At least for my needs.
