Hi!

It's propably a bit too extreme for the most guys...
but i think it's fucking Killer! :)
The roar and grind is almost unbeatable.
I used an EMG loaded Dean Cadikill, a TS9 and an ISP, additionally to the built in beast-section of the stock 2203KK. The Cab is a Marshall MR1960TV, loaded with G12M25 Greenbacks. Miked with a single Sm57. It's raw- like almost everytime.
What do you think?

Regards,
Simon

With the guitar tuned low and that much gain it's rather mushy sounding IMHO.

Yeah, I don't think I'd continue posting that. It's not about "extreme" tone, it's about sounding bad. Maybe that amp is awesome, that clip isn't.

Simon's had some really nice clips...this is one reason why I hesitate to put clips up because all I have is my phone. Trust me everyone...I have had EVERY modded Marshall in here..you name it and I probably have had one example. Plus many stock..and the KK 800 stock is great..pretty close to any Cameron and better than all the rest(Voodoo, Friedman, etc) that I've had in my home. Then you boost the KK and it gets amazing..AS good as a Cameron. My SLO is the best for my taste that I've had..but that KK is awesome. Noise gate is killer as well...

I think it would of sounded better with V30s or H30s not Greenback M25's.

Hey guys! :)
This is just one, very extreme, tone example. It's raw. I like it.
The KK has a great clean, great crunch, great high gain, right in the box.
I will make a vid in a more traditional tuning tomorrow.
Do you have any tone examples, or clips, to discuss?
Regards,
Simon

Thanks:) Same experience here!

Get rid of the EMGs and the TS9. That's a good amp, but plug straight in and use less gain.

I just keep the 'beast' level at 5-7, and hit the front with an eq pedal mid boost and it is as good as any modded Marshall I've had. Great amp. G12 65 cab is the pick for this amp IMO...

I need the EMGs and the TS9 for the drop-tunings. Don't tell this to Slayer

I had the preamp gain on 10 and the beast on 2. TS9: gain and tone on 12 oclock and the level maxed.
Gain on zero does also work. I did not try the g12 65, afaik
my kerry king crushes!! favorite marshall in the room.
Are you playing there? I watched this clip a few times and i liked it.

yup, that's me. ampfest a couple of years ago. there is clips of my herbert, ultra lead, a bunch of modded marshalls, a peters hydra....damn, i have too many amps.

have not played that kerry king since i got the dar amps. need to bring the kk back out and abuse it again.

edit....i am plugged into a boss ns-2 noise gate, and into the amp. nothing else in the signal chain. simple and deadly.

It is just a heavy industrial tone to my ears. Does a good job of it.

Not everyone digs it.

Rock on man.

I dug it. Sounds great. I would love to swap my Dual Rec for one of those heads.

Sounds much better than I thought it would after reading some of the comments, but IMO less dist when recording, although I'm sure it sounded huge in the room.
