The Amp probably sounds Great
but the Low Tuning of the Guitar is
just a FLUBBY MESS!!!
JUST PLAY BASS MAN!

The Guitar is a Mid-Range Instrument...
When played in Drop B, everything just
goes to Shit and the Mid-Range is Completely
Lost.

Dammit. I bet a buddy this was going to be a Peavey Bandit 112 thread

dropB is almost standard these days, this ^ argument is almost 20 years past its relevance
Reset your target to the 8 & 9 stringers who are tuning much lower like B0

Marshalls and Greenbacks sound like ass tuned that low IMO. Sorry. =/ I'm not opposed to low tunings either, so that's not the case. I just don't think Marshall is the one for the job.

Anything lower then about drop C sounds like mush

Just for curious, would love to hear the same clip you played with out the boost, and one with out the boost and without the beast mode on the KK engaged.

I had the preamp gain on 10 and the beast on 2. TS9: gain and tone on 12 oclock and the level maxed.
Gain on zero does also work. I did not try the g12 65, afaik
.
This may help you, keep that OD closer to a clean boost. You may have flown too close to the gain sun and now RT is burning you up

yup, that's me. ampfest a couple of years ago. there is clips of my herbert, ultra lead, a bunch of modded marshalls, a peters hydra....damn, i have too many amps.

have not played that kerry king since i got the dar amps. need to bring the kk back out and abuse it again.

edit....i am plugged into a boss ns-2 noise gate, and into the amp. nothing else in the signal chain. simple and deadly.
Cool! :) Any clips of the Dar?

It is just a heavy industrial tone to my ears. Does a good job of it.

Not everyone digs it.

Rock on man.

Thanks! I will :)

I dug it. Sounds great. I would love to swap my Dual Rec for one of those heads.
Thanks! Don't swap. Buy the KK and keep both! :) With these two heads, two cabs you like and one or two od pedals of your choice you have ALL sounds covered one could ever want.
Sounds much better than I thought it would after reading some of the comments, but IMO less dist when recording, although I'm sure it sounded huge in the room.
It does sound huge! :)
I hate greenbacks
I like them for a different sound. I have two other cabs as well...

Even 7 strings are too much for me. I think 6 strings are more than enough :)

No problem. tastes differ

Stay tuned for a clip coming later this day
i think this sounds brutal
me too! :)

Haven't read all the posts - just the title to the thread.

IMHO, there are two amps that are the best in the world....depending on what side of the genres one resides:

Bogner XTC 101B or 20thA
Diezel VH4

Equally incredible, equally invincible, equally unique and massive.

Just my 2 cents,
Mojo

PS: And this is taking into account availability, price, versatility, etc. Fuck Dumble.

Thanks Amigo!!

Been off the grid down here in Central America (CR), surfing, chillaxin', lovin' life, been todo bien - pura vida...

That said, next amp incoming is the Helios w/ matching 212 cab. After that, maybe a Friedman JC signature model... Or HBE. But the Helios is up to bat next.

Thanks for looking out for me, and thanks for the welcome-back :salute:

Maybe I'm just too old but that sounds horrible. One finger detuned playing has its place, as long as I don't have to listen to it. Learn some jazz chords, turn off the horrible distortion and come back. As far as the title goes, pfffffftt!

Like i said: "It's propably a bit too extreme for the most guys...
but i think it's fucking Killer! :)"
Best regards, have fun, no matter which gear or music you like! :)

One thing I can say after seeing all the replies.

I can feel this amp crushing my rib cage even in this video.
